This thread does NOT contain a download link.

First, make sure you already have downloaded and installed all previous patches up to 4.0
That means you need:
Vanilla (off steam)
Patch 3.0
Patch 3.1
Patch 4.0
Getting up to 4.0 is explained here; http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5058&p=52711

Once you are up to 4.0; (most people will be here already)

1. Download the new patch
2. EXTRACT** the contents of the new zip file (You will now see a file called "mod installer TF 4.3 .exe)
3. Run/ execute the extracted .exe file
4. Make sure it installs to your MAIN game folder (usually under Steam/Steamapps/Common/il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover)
5. Delete all cache and shaders files (from here; \Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover - MOD\cache) and run single player once

** It's best if you extract using "7-zip". Winrar and Winzip have casued problems for some people in the past. 4.3 should work with winzip and winrar. It will work with 7-zip.

note: Mysticpuma has tested with WINRAR and reports that it works OK.

7-Zip:

Winrar 64-bit:

Winrar 32-Bit:

Winzip:

Thank you for flying with Team Fusion, Have a nice day

What about the issue with unzipping the files with winrar or winzip? I seem to remember that people had issues with that before??

Is there no need to backup and reinstall our user files this time?

Is there no need to backup and reinstall our user files this time?

you can if you want, but this patch does NOT write to the "my documents" folder, so your ini should be safe.

Still it's good practice to always back sh** up anyways right? ;)

What about the issue with unzipping the files with winrar or winzip? I seem to remember that people had issues with that before??

:salute:

I think the problems were related to the fact that the TF4.0 mod was so large it had to be split up into two files. and 7-zip works better for split archives.

For the TF4.3 patch I believe all zip extractors will work

Just change the path when the installer asks for it and it should work.

It's the same way that you installed v3.00/3.01 and v4.00

When the installer is available you need to choose where you want the mod to be installed to, so you'd browse to your duplicate install folder and install it there.

Please note, you must have already installed v3.00, v3.01 and v4.00 before installing v4.3

Cheers, MP

Hello, I was looking for some advice. I had to reinstall CLOD from steam so essentially I'm starting over. When I go to download TF3.0 Im taken to the ' Hightail Mod installer' page. I've read the instructions and watched the helpful Youtube tutorial, but I do not see Hightail mentioned nor do i recall using Hightail when I downloaded and installed the TF Mods before, which was a while ago. So do i just download Hightail to access the patch? Thanks for any help .

Back then Hightail was called Yousendit. They renamed the company but is the same download.
The download should be the MOD. If you are getting some other installer, perhaps you are clicking the wrong link.

I have translated the OP into Spanish and posted into the "Forum in Spanish".

But your links in the OP to the 7-ZIP and Winrar-32 and 64-bits versions websites seem broken. Original links from Mysticpuma are working, but I dare to suggest that when you copied them on the OP, you only copied the short version (with .... in the middle) and they do not work. Cheers!

i think it's not needful to delete the content of cache folder. the files will be overwritten while installing the patch!

Delete the cache folder will prevent graphical glitches. The rebuild of cache is done while launching the game automatically.

if you do not delete cache you can have weird graphical issues, always delete just to be sure

Wrong. The cache files need to be deleted! If not they will conflict with the new effects.

Seriously, we don't post the advice for the fun of it...delete the cache, it makes a difference!
