I have a question
it's possible?
Is the tactic for a heavy bomber real?
The Wellington is designed to maneuver like this?
Thanks for the campaign, congratulations.

no damaged by flak aircraft do strange things the rest of the squadron continued on its way up high the welly you followed managed to recover from a horrible dive but would have soon enough plowed into the ground on its own.
bombers when being attacked will also climb and dive rapidly to draw fighters closer and into crossing fire from other bombers. this is a total defensive tactic for both sides. So please keep up the film it was great sir enjoyed it very much.
Good vid harmer lost for 20 min over france lol and you may find the AI a bit more persistent in TWC servers sir <S>Fatal
glad to have 234 aboard
harmer have you been to your doctors recently and had a full checkup?
Playing this game can be hazardous to your health lol.
Few points;
check your 6 more often was twitching my head watching that video,
recognise friendly fields, they are pretty much all unique shape, size objects on them. Comes with stick time.
Enjoyed watching and listening to the chatter thanks for sharing.
PS: tell the American dude to wash his mouth out with a bar of soap. :salute:
Thanks for the advice.
We've been playing DCS jets too long. Only need to check your RWR instead of six, Lol.
This is our first foray since Storm of War, so we are all a bit rusty on everything.
Actually, my 'cussing is the worst, so I guess I'm to blame.
24:42 "might organise an orientation night eh" lol...srry couldn't resist. Raw, honest footage, loved it. Thx Harmer :salute:
need more blue pilots to sign up So I am pasting a signup sheet url here if you want to join us in the Campaign
and wish to fly blue then please go sign up we need 20 more blue players:

Harmer, I would take the Z axis off your EDtracker or TrackIR profile. Looking at that vid, your gunsight is bouncing up and down all over the place. While Z axis can be a good thing, it makes it very hard to get good lead shots without good aircraft placement.
The Z axis on TrackIR is the forward/backward head motion, right?
If the sight is bouncing up and down, wouldn't that be the Y axis?
Intuitively yes, physically, no. Its connected to your Z axis. See the 3 pics attached to keep your gunsight in the centre of your rectical. (sounds rude!) Will greatly improve your lead shots. But will remove your option for looking over the fuselage if you have that. Personally, it confuses the hell out of me in a dogfight when swapping from front to rear view. (As you never look behind you, this may not at first appear to be a problem :) )
Attachment 37185
The assymetric map in the below box, doesnt really matter with Z Axis turned off (3rd pic) What matters is the top box with a flat line at 0. Both boxes in the roll tab should be flatlined at 0.
Attachment 37186
Z Axis, flat line at 0
Attachment 37187
Z Axis option turned off in options tab
I am honored that you use my thread in a general way to post and comment on your things
But my question remains standing
Although Fatal answered me immediately, my ignorance makes me wonder again if a welli "can dive that way without suffering damage and maintaining control
Another thing that interests me is knowing if you contemplate any way to unlock the external views of the Tracks as they do in Atag
There is a general bewilderment among my colleagues for the lack of special events in which we are able to fill the server
Logically people fly and do not worry about following the private forum, thinking that it is enough to go out to patrol in 109 and destroy everything that moves
It has also been commented that novices broke many planes.
They would have been limited from the beginning, you can not pretend to leave the candies in sight and the children do not catch them
The first days we were up to 50 pilots flying and the thing was balanced, but days are going to get worse
I already communicated in my squad the lack of blues and I allowed myself to hang the enlistment link
All for the cliffs !!
I am not criticizing anything, I am excited about the campaign and I hope that good winds will return to the channel
Greetings and the effort in this campaign is truly appreciated
Being that the campaign is a 1st for us in this fashion, it is a learning experience and we are correcting as we go. Remember every simple request involves many hours of coding for a very small number of people. One can only imagine what TFS go through to create TF5 in comparison.
I cant speak for the Wellingtons having never flown one or seen one fly. As with everyones server, we are all limited by the original code as to what we can stretch and what we cannot. Existing code as I understand it comes with a trade off when you include aggressive AI in the coding.
As for external tracks, we do not have that code and it belongs to others outside the TWC. There are no plans to attempting coding such at thing at this time.
The server is designed to change the way pilots think and behave in it. Unlike the scenerio you picture above with the 109's going out and killing everything they can, the server will penalise you with a loss for that. To win in this server you are required to work as a team, squadrons and loners alike. As explained elsewhere, your production relies on your ability to hit your targets on the enemy side and stop them hitting yours. If a side is full of fighters, they expect to lose, as fighters cannot alone accomplish the mission objectivers. They will do little to zero damage to the other sides production. (Reliance upon your Bomber AI alone wont be enough). That said, we have seen organisation on both sides of the pond. Some blue and red squadrons do little else but work constantly and bombing enemy production and stopping their own being bombed. Hence the importance to grab the loners and invite them into your flights. if pilots want to dogfight, then get them to do it in a situation which benefits your sides objectives.
Strategy is essential when flying against an organised opponant. Top cover, bomber escort, fighter interceptors all play a role in ensuring the survival of your aircraft and the destruction of your enemies.
Bringing your plane back is a hugely understated critical element in the campaign server also. Those who jump into a chute because they cannot be bothered flying home, or dont want to wrestle that aircraft rudder 30 miles are going to hurt their side. In many circumstances those planes are lost and it directly effects your supply everytime it happens.
Glad your rallying your Squadron for blues. There are many squadrons in the campaign, not all fly disciplined. The more thought progressive squadrons in the game for both sides, makes for a better game for all.
The numbers are good and steady given the recent quiet period. Lots of new people coming on board to CloD which benefits us all. The true beauty of this campaign is that you dont need large numbers ingame to have a good time so it caters for all timezone populations. All of us want more pilots in the game. Encourage and educate the new ones, promote outside for more and provide them the opportunity to see how disciplined and fun loving squadrons work. Again, we all benefit.
The server campaign is just one tool for that to occur. Its not perfect, but the guys putting it together are still trying to make it so.
The passwords, limited access to forums etc is for everyones benefit tho it may not appear initially so. This allows both sides to plan without fear of spying and provides Squadrons the opportunity to fly together without a gaggle of unnecessary comms should they so desire. Personally, I hate passworded channels and forums, but I cannot argue a point against the value in a campaign environment. There are many Squadrons and elements on both sides who want to keep their secrets. This may initially be confusing to new players, so again, we educate and render assistance to help them get set up.
Glad you are enjoying it. Hope your Squadron does to and benefits in an increase in recruitment as a result.
S!
Hi Pienoir,
if you are concerned about the strange behaviour of Wellingtons or any other AI, maybe it would have been better to post this question somewhere in the Tean Fusion section of this forum (General Discussion or Error Reporting and Bug Tracking for exmple).
The TFSW guys are the ones who can explain and eventually improove, but they just might miss your question here.
For flying in the TWC campaign, everything Spook wrote.
It is really, really different than flying on ATAG, Danger Dogs or any other server I know.
I might add one thing that we have learned: it very much matters to choose your aircraft wisely. It's just a waste to intercept bombers with the relatively few 'hotrods' availabe. Hurricanes and Beaufighters (or 110s for the Blue side) can do the job as good or even better. Save your good fighters for the best pilots to fight enemy fighters only, protecting your bomber and ground attackers (or bomber interceptors).
Jaja OK
You have all the reason
it was to cheer up the salon
Although I must admit that I did not expect that behavior in a wellington
I even thought that maybe it was the result of my ignorance.
Comment on the video published but without pretending to highlight anything
Just to enhance the cinematic beauty of this simulator
No more drama greetings to all
