Didn't like the first one... doubt I'll waste my time on the second.
Give me historically rigorous... intellectually challenging films and I'll go.
Surely 34 years after the original he would have been collecting his pension for quite a few years by now.
Then again however they explain away someone who'd be hitting 60 still flying has got to have more plot than the first one.......maybe!
Didn't mind the first one. You of course have to give some lee-way for the cheesy bits, but loved seeing the 14s buzzing around.
I do see a lot of modern day film making ideas copy and pasted strait into it, which will make it a very different style to the first most likely. Almost looks a bit like Ace Combat: The Movie to be perfectly honest. But then again, the storey lines in AC have always interested me greatly, despite the cheese :-P
Wonder how much of actual USAF footage they will use. They will have to be using some, possibly one reason why it took them so long to make.
Whatever the case is I will definitely be going to see it in cinemas, wouldn't be right if I didn't. ;)
:salute:
Oh yeah.

Is Val kilmar in it? He should be working on the sequel to willow. We can only hope, I guess.
Can't wait for the Mig-28! So accurate!

Haha! Here come to Top Gun boys :-P
From what I have heard Val will be in the movie. Time hasn't been as kind to him as with Tom, so he may or may not be flying, but we will see ;)
What I do know is, real F18s actually flying. If nothing else that will top it pretty well ;)
They have said there is no CGI, but they will be using 6K (???) special effects. From the trailer they don't look like they will be too bad :)
i still have the vinyl soundtrack for the 1st one..yes its junk food for the brain but at least it had some quality to it. not much cgi..so far.
I always liked the version of the first one with Charlie Sheen much better. :D
Having had the good fortune to work on a fast jet land based fighter flightline for a few years i really enjoy the opening scene of Top Gun. Ground crew doing their thing, classic aircraft and the raw power of AB take-offs - great stuff. The rest of the film - meh....
That sounds fantastic Ezzie!
Even someone who is just interested in them and just watched them fly in person gets a similar feeling watching those scenes.
Lets face it, the reason why it is worth watching the movie is because of the jets. :D
Agreed.
But would add there is another reason for me, and it's because of interest in these (maybe a bit newer?):
