Coastal Command movie - anyone know how to get hold of it?

Found out thru my family grapevine that my great uncle (Roger Hunter) is the lead pilot in this movie.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coastal_Command_(film)

I've got a book re Coastal Command that mentions him and knew he was the tallest pilot in Coastal Command at one stage (6ft 11 i beleive) but didnt know he was in a movie.

Anyone know how i could get hold of a copy?

Uncle Ezzie flew for the RAF? He will be turning in his grave watching your 110 antics.

    Seriously though nice one.

    Jolly good show chaps.

Juts watched it - good to see the Cinderella Service in action. Aussie Sunderland and Beaufighters saved the day.

Thanks Colander/Buzz and 1lokos - sent the links to my family in case they hadnt seen it either.

Re: Coastal Command movie - anyone know how to get hold of it?

    Soooo,

I went and checked my book which has a photo of him. As mentioned before my Great Uncle Roger was the tallest pilot in the RAF in WW2 it seems (6 ft 8) and the pilot in the movie didnt look tall and doesnt look like the photo i have of my Great Uncle. And he doesnt look like a Hunter.

So a bit of sleuthing has revealed the the pilot of T Tommy was not my Great Uncle - https://books.google.com.au/books?id...%20%22&f=false

    This link found here

    http://www.rafcommands.com/forum/sho...lm-1942/page2&

Sadly the T Tommy Captain died later in the war as did most of the crew - read the last page of the second url if interested.

Here the detail re my Great Uncle

Flight Lieutenant Leslie Fox (36099), No.209 Squadron
Acting Flight Lieutenant Roger Edward HUNTER (40540), No.240 Squadron.
These captains of aircraft have completed 500 and 850 operational flying hours respectively and have always shown outstanding zeal, cheerfulness and courage in their flying duties. On two occasions they have carried out important duties involving long distance flights during which the weather conditions were most adverse and navigational aids were almost non-existent. In the successful completion of these most responsible tasks they showed fine determination and a-very high standard of airmanship.

    EDIT: from http://www.rcafmuseum.on.ca/422ww2.htm

"July 8, 1942, F/L Roger Hunter DFC, an experienced R.A.F Catalina pilot, arrived to be flight commander (422 R.C.A.F. Squadron)"

    Still a good movie though.

    Ezzie
