Awesome "big-ish" band version of one of my favourite tunes by Dexter Gordon.
Also if you want some real awesome heavy stuff featuring the bari sax (aka the most awesome sax of all time) look no further than the Mingus Big Band version of Moanin'

Been listening to this lately revisiting my misspent youth....
And sometimes i dance around the kitchen with my headphones on...

Not quite sure how to add the video into the message, so I've added a link:

Normally listen to it while I get the machine ready...

Mike.
The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.
Anybody say synthpop?
I happen to like some old stuff of the 80's like the usual Depeche, OMD, Ultravox, also some old Italo like:
Took me a while to find a more modern fix in this band:
Now I also happen to like 80's hardrock/metal, like:
Unfortunately, still haven't found anything better than the old guard
....but what if I suddenly found 80's sounding synths AND heavy guitars,... oh YES!!!!
Saw these guys live a few weeks ago, now I've seen a few greats like Kiss and Maiden.
This was a bald Jet Lee and Bam Bam Bigelow on a small stage, starting the sequencers, and for the next hour+ it was a pounding rollercoaster.
No vocals, just music, with the occasional few seconds break in between to man/setup the synths.
Musically probably the most enjoyable concert I ever was at! (even though the mix wasn't that great from where I was standing)
Also the only where I got the idea that these guys were going louder and louder as ever song came, while usually my concerts get softer because of hearing fatigue.

I have a varying selection of tastes in music, but most frequently is instrumental tunes.
This could not be logically complete on this forum without this one, so first things first;

One for my Scottish heritage, and a word for Scones, and this one in particular because the lilts on the pipes are just plain amazing!

For music with lyrics, this one comes to mind as a bit of a gem

Also quite like the music from this old fellow from back in the day

Love Stan's stuff.
For more modern tastes in music I will have to get back to you all on that
I do have some I am sure, but none come to mind as of now
Edit: Apologies for my dreadful embeds
MY WORD, I almost forgot this classic group too!

In response to farley, Radiohead are considered innovative in the UK due to their shift from rock music to electronic in quite an original way. Last thing I heard they were transmitting from Pluto but some of their earlier rock tunes are gems though.
And the last one goes out to all of you that like to fall with no ripcord
Arctic Monkeys are a huge favorite due to innovation again. The crowds always know all their lyrics and sing along.
Black Keys
And my own band of course The list is endless so I'll stop now
BEETHOVEN Concerto for Violin and Orchestra - Hilary Hahn, violin
Bruch: 1. Violinkonzert ∙ hr-Sinfonieorchester ∙ Hilary Hahn ∙ Andrés Orozco-Estrada
Mendelssohn Violin Concerto OP 64 & Bach Sonata Violin No.2 (Full Performance) Hilary Hahn & FRSO
Glorious!
As a simple man I enjoy this,
Certainly a different league but still musically magnificent.
