    Music anyone?

I love music, and I'd like to hear what ATAG members like to listen to.

Being 56 my favorite music is from the 70's, with bands like, just off the top of my head, Yes, Pink Floyd, The Who, Zeppelin, Genesis, Guess Who, Tull, Bob Seger, Uriah Heap, Beatles (of course), Springsteen, Steppenwolf, CSNY, The Hip..... I mean there are dozens or hundreds of amazing bands and musicians i've had the pleasure of enjoying over the years.

Just watched Steve Howe http://www.guitarworld.com/exclusive...e-video-lesson for a few minutes as i have had a steady Yes diet for a few weeks now, and it just filled me with energy (can you see me pumping my fist?)

Anyhow, wonder if anyone wants to share their musical tastes, as i'm always open to listening to stuff i don't know, and since a lot of you here have a few gray hairs like me, we can stroll down memory lane for a bit.

I sometimes wonder if i would even be here today without having had music in my life.... it sure helped me get through a sometimes troubled youth!

I could ramble on forever here, but i'll just sit back and see if anyone wants to share their stories about music, or share what they like/have liked.

Thanks in advance for any input you have to offer.

The band by which I measure every band is Tool.

    Re: Music anyone?

Good idea for a thread Farley, I always like to discuss music and discover new things I've never heard.
I listen to a lot of music genres, from baroque to metal, instrumental hip-hop to atmospheric music. Classical, electronic, blues... I like variety.
I guess the only thing I don't listen is jazz.

Things I listen to for the moment:

    Atmospheric:

    Instrumental hip-hop:

I'll restrict myself to these 4, and let others share their music, before I fill this thread with mine

Great! I thought I was the only one here with an appreciation for the big bands. (Especially Glenn Miller!)

    Re: Music anyone?

I wasn't going to post because I hate the question "what are you into?" and I can never quite do justice to it, and I don't tend to hold onto bands after they drift off my currently-listening-to list. But this band - Sleaford Mods, oh my god they've blown my tits off.

I love The Fall and I love Hip Hop and until quite recently I despaired at there being no new British bands actually talking about modern England or making anything in their own accents unless their accent is conveniently Lewis Hamilton / N-Dubz mockney, I degress, Sleaford Mods, they've changed me.
