Setting up Freetrack for DCS - suggestions?

I purchased the DCS Mustang quite a while ago, and after a lot of trial and error was able to get freetrack working using FaceTrackNoir.
I seem to have deleted it and now have to start over.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best way to get Freetrack running in DCS?

I found it to be a real headache, and not nearly as nice as CoD (although that is a bit of work as well).

I have the 5 planes coming to me once the WWII Europe sim gets going, and want to be able to fly those as well.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Dang. If my pc wasn't in a box right now I could help you, as ive been through this. There is a way, I found it on ed forums from searching freetrack. If no luck I can help next week when I'm up and running again ( I hope)

As taken from this link ---> FREE TRACK and DCS

    Okay, here's what I did:

Download the 64-bit plugin (I have attached to this post). Note that this new .dll file should be 11.0KB as opposed to the 18.5KB file that comes with DCS World by default.

First, replace the dll file located in 'DCS World\bin\headtracker' with the new dll that you just downloaded. The old and new .prefs file is identical anyway.

Second, navigate to 'DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\P-51D\bin\x86_64' and create a file called 'headtracker'. Place the new dll and the .prefs file into this folder.

Finally, open up the 'Input.lua' file located in the 'Input' folder ('DCS World\Scripts\Input'), and change line 27 from

    'NewInput.setHeadTrackerDllPath('./bin/headtracker/headtracker.dll')'
    to
    'NewInput.setHeadTrackerDllPath('headtracker/headtracker.dll')'

Now ensure that in you freetrack output settings the 'freetrack' and 'trackir' options are both ticked. (these are just the settings I use, I haven't verified that they are necessary)

Open up the sim and you should have headtracking, albeit with the issues that I mentioned in the above post.

    Notes:
I am unable to find a log file confirming that the dll was loaded.
I understand that I probably broke part of the dll file with the modification (hence the crash).

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Chief RC I will try this as soon as i have the chance, and will let you know if i have any success with it, and if it doesn't work, then Freya, I'll be calling on you for further advice.
Sounds like it's gonna work tho.

    Thanks again gentlemen.

    Chief

Thanks Chief. I'll have a look.

    I have a file X86, but not X86_64

    and InputEvents.lua but not Input.lua

I might just totally reload the Mustang, and start fresh to see if that helps.

Thanks for the info. Will let you know if i end up successful.

Hi Farley were you ever able to get the Mustang to work? I'm trying to now but I'm having issues as well.
