    DCS FW190D-9 Quick Guide

Practice and lots of manual reading finally paid off. Here's a quick guide for FW190 I made for my squad mates, so I thought I'd share it with you guys too. Nothing fancy, just the basics that you need to know to get your plane in the air.

Yep, got going in a couple of minutes thanks to this. Assigning individual wheel brakes commands was definitely a good idea too. Landing the Dora, on the other hand, is going to take some practice it seems, haha.

    Re: DCS FW190D-9 Quick Guide

I found landing easier than taking off. Just come in with a steep enough angle so you can keep an eye on the runway for most of the way in at a speed of 250kmh. Aim to be 220kmh over the runway threshold and then chop the throttle totally and pull back on the stick a bit more. Just glide it down then so you do a three point landing at about 190kmh. Use your rudders to keep it straight initially and then at 100kmh pull back on the stick to lock the tailwheel so you can use the brakes. Avoid trying to land on two points as it's way easier for things to go wrong directionally which can be hard to recover from.

    Re: DCS FW190D-9 Quick Guide

I be damned , great tutorial.

I will be occupied the next few month trying to take off, and the next ones after that to see if I can land. I thought I would hate the DORA but I do not. First real challenge for years.
So I will not be flying cod these next month, I will try to take off

    Re: DCS FW190D-9 Quick Guide

Ehm question, my reticle size seems to go back to 1000m by itself.. If I adjust the range it wont stay :0

    Is this normal?

Do you have it assigned to some rotary and are trying to change it with keystrokes or something?

    Re: DCS FW190D-9 Quick Guide

Rotary is an other word for Axis?

My controls should be fine.. So the range you set should be "fixed" right?

    ~

Reinstalling everything, I got some good shots on the AI today though.. just disabled the gunsight and have it work like a normal Revi.. with a very tiny reticle.
