    Me 109 trim

When I adjust the elevator trim I see that the elevators move, and depending on the airspeed are variously miss aligned with the stabiliser.
I understand that the trim on the Me 109 was achieved with the horizontal stabiliser (a screw jack on the leading edge?) but this doesn't seem to be happening.
There is a key to "Toggle Horizontal Stabilizier" but it doesn't appear to do anything.
Is there a control setting I've missed?

That command its a legacy from old il2 commands. The 109 only has pitch trim, no aileron or rudder trim. It can fly level under certain throtle/speed/rpm conditions, usually around 400kms

The 109 only has elevator trim.

    Re: Me 109 trim

In the Bf109 cockpit are two large concentric wheels situated on the left sidewall, aft of the throttle. The outboard wheel actuates the flaps and the inboard wheel controls the pitch trim by changing the incidence of the horizontal stabilizer, actually called "elevator trim" in the game controls configuration. If possible don't assign keys, it's better to assign the control of this wheel to an axis slider of a joystick, the pitch trim control is smoother.

I think he refer to this.

This is legacy from old il-2, in this the trim move the elevator instead trim tabs.
In CloD the stabilizer incidence is adjusted by trim command, but the elevator move in opposite direction.

Exactly, this is how it should work. Is there any loss in performance due to the miss alignment.
PS. thanks for the tips on game setup.

No, is only a graphical misrepresentation and is not related to how the physics are calculated.

There's also a little numeric indicator next to the wheel, ranging from 0 to 4.

    Re: Me 109 trim

    Question about Me109 trim:
I noticed that on BoS and DCS when you trim the plane nose down the indicator shows positive numbers (+1 and +2), while in CloD they are negative (-1 and -2)
Is that due to the different Me version or is it a mistake?

    Re: Me 109 trim

Thanks, but I'm talking about the indicator close to the wheel inside the cockpit.. Seems that in Clod the numbers are the opposite of DCS and IL2

If flying an E model you might want to take one of these and wire it up to a free axis on a joystick controller. Bring on the realism! (full disclosure: I make and sell these, but this is not a pitch for sales, but for realism)! Radiator Crank

Oh, and I should be clear that this is a radiator crank, not flaps or trim, but, you know, same principal!
