    Flare's Aviation Drawings

Some of the stuff I do when not flying . . .
Spitfire Mk. Ia, Bf. 109 E4 and a burning K4.

They look good, you seem to get the perspective right, that's a good start.

I would highly recommend trying digital painting - all you need is a good value tablet, I use this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2015-Huion...item51c9bceced It's essentially a Wacom ripoff but it does the job nicely. I don't btw, just use it for retouching but once you get over any driver hickups, the pressure sensitivity and accuracy are fantastic.

    here's a tutorial on Sci-Fi Aircraft:

The concept will be the same with ww2 aircraft though. Digital painting has so many advantages over physical. Obviously in an ideal world you'd first master physical painting but there's tons of people out there that learned to draw solely with digital

    Re: Flare's Aviation Drawings

Nice work Flare, I used to draw like you when sitting in class being bored to death by the subject.

After getting in trouble I switched to drawing up missions and target briefings for Fighters Anthology, that way it looked like I was taking notes.

You might find that interesting, Flare. I drew quite a lot of airplanes back in the days.

Not aviation, but close enough. An A-Wing of the Rebel Alliance in a minor clash with the Empire.

I have a XP-Pen drawing pad ( deco 01 v2 ) . I used this pen and tablet for drawing on my computer – mostly in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. I do professional scientific illustration, graphic design, and surface design.

The price for these features compared to other brands is great. Best for beginners like meWorks perfectly . A decent size But you do need to practise for good hand-eye coordination .

I do a lot of drawing and bought one of these tablets about half a year ago.
Even bought some software for it.
I spend several days trying to set it up and learn the basics. Then I never managed to get the tip of the pen to show on the place where it is meant to be and got sick and tired with all the useless advise in the net.

So I still use a pencil for 85 cent and a sheet of copy paper for about 0,004 cent and not to forget an eraser that could come up to 1 euro but will last some time ...

Mind you, I smell of spam myself, and I wouldn't appreciate it if anybody drew any conclusions on that basis!
