    FIX: Win10(preview) .Net error...pls help

    Hei guys

I have a little problem, recently i have installed Win10(preview).
Now the problem is that the stock (steam) installed game works fine. But when i install TF patches(1st patch) i can go to menu but when i launch any of the single mission loading bar comes to 90% then backs to 80% and then just shutdown without any log.Only log is in windows viewer .NET error.

Application: Launcher.exe Framework Version: v4.0.30319 Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception. Any clues?
I know that problem is with netframowork of windows but i cant uninstall or reinstall 4.0 and lower versions because they are integrated with Win10....so i think....

    Any advice?

What you are seeing is a directx error (Render).
The rest of the messages are just where it came from and can be ignored in this case.

    Ty for reply...

    So the problem is directX

As i understand Win10 uses some new directX libaries...
I reinstalled directX from redist folder....no luck....
Any advice or Win10 are no good for CloD...
    That will be disappointment...

Sadly, I'm afraid you are the first person to even try it so there will not be much help we can provide.
All I can tell you to try is the same advice about the game crashing we give everyone:
Make sure there's nothing interfering with Directx. Like video capture software, overlays etc.

Red face Re: Win10(preview) .Net error...pls help

    Update...
    I think i found a solution for Windows 10
Clod now runs perfect with TF patches

    Problem was with permissions....
Windows 10 have "Trusted installer" user....i think that this "user" was crashing the game.

    Solution:
    1. Find install folder of Clod(....steamapps/common/IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover)
Right click...go to properties....Security.... now you will find bunch of users
Click on Advanced then on the top you will find Name(install folder of Clod) one row down will be owner...
    Mine was Trusted installer....
Change it to "your" account or administrator.....
    2. Then do the same with with 1c Club folder in Documents and setting...
    3. And System32 folder!!!

    How i find this....
It was X-rebirth that gave me a clue
Was crashing same as Clod but it created dumpfile
"Exception information" The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access.....X-rebirth.exe
Exe of rebirth could not access .dll files in System32
It was bunch of .dll perrmission errors.

Thanks to VS that i could read dump file

This is only small dump that gave me a clue

I hope, if anyone have a problem that this is solution...for me(lucky?) it was...

    So again happy flyer

    P.S.
Moderator can u add "FIX" on the top that anyone can see it...

Snapper edit: Done! Thread stickied for easier future reference. Thanks for this!

Thanks Dripc for the follow up .... too often folks come up with a solution to their problems and never post what it was. This will help others immensely.

Win 10 has been running great for me. The only thing I have done is turn off UAC (user account control.) No Launcher crashes. What I have got since Teamspeak update? No longer recognizes Stick/Throttle keys to set for setting to push key to talk? Will accept mouse and keyboard but no keys on stick or throttle. Using a X55 Rhino and trying too assign key 25? Any ideas for a fix?

I just wanted to add that I did not have to do any of the above security tweaks to get it CloD to run under Windows 10. I did, however, have to launch CloD once initially via the Steam app. This hooks up the required DirectX and .Net stuff automatically. If you try to launch Launcher.exe for your first time into the game, you will get those errors. Once you launch CloD once through Steam, you can exit the game and then launch it via your Launcher.exe shortcut from then on with no problems. My PC may be different, but thought this tidbit belonged here.

    LuckyHawk,

I've got the exact same TeamSpeak joystick button Press-To-Talk problem as you in Win10. played around for an hour last night after we flew and couldn't get it to work. I've posted this to the TS forums, so if I hear of a fix I'll let everyone know here. A quick google search shows we're not alone, though.

    For me, yes...

...but I hope others give 'er a try too and report after flying a few days with it.

(strongly suggest a spare drive/partition for this, and some technical know-how. Do not replace your existing Windows 7/8 with a beta O/S!)

    Many thanks!
    This is an invaluable fix!
Lets hope Windows 10 can match up to Windows XP or Windows 7.
Windows 8.1 to me is not the best, but I am definitely going to wait and see how things work out!

    For future reference:

CloD "vanila" (without TF MOD) dont work in Win 8/8.1/10 if not used the CloDer.exe (see in 1cForum).

Nope, no problem. The only folder is going to be used is that one
