What about the Su-26
Just kidding. Great work Chuck!
All right folks. The FULL version is updated in the first post. It has hyperlinks in the Content Tables to help you find what you need quickly.

I've just had my first look at this Chuck, after taking a rest from the cockpit for a while ... OUTSTANDING work mate.
Thanks so much for all this effort. You are a credit to the community.

Only just found these, have only read the Spitfire so far but looking forward to reading them all. Well done Chuck!
Having done a lot of research ages ago into the Spit Boost Cutout, was wondering whether it would be covered (and correctly). Then did a double-take as I realised the diagram was the one I drew at work (while I was supposed to be doing something else), and the text was a good summary of that original thread. Glad you could use it, the evolution of the Merlin boost control is a pretty interesting British engineering story.
Cheers, camber
Chuck, this is professional and "epic" work, seriously, considering (as with all of the admin and TF guys) the fact that you have chosen to dedicate your time for the benefit of all future CLOD users for many years!
First of all I am hooked by your videos, now you have provided the material a total beginner needs, it is easy and accessible....perfect.
Amazing!
Thank you.
Eric..
Brilliant work Chuck,
Time to print out, (at work), laminate, (at work) and add to my expanding CoD file, (I'm a nerd!).
Thanks and cheers.
I would wait a week or two if I were you. I am still implementing small, discrete revisions.
You guys might not realize it, but I re-uploaded the guides at least 30 times since I first posted them.
For instance, this week-end I plan to work with someone to gain some fuel consumption values for the He-111, Ju-88 and BR.20. Using those will give better fuel estimates when planning for required fuel loadout.
Someone pointed out that the method I used did give fuel loadouts that were slightly inaccurate.
Funny that you mention that because I remember reading that post on boost cut-out some time ago and thinking how useful it would be in some sort of guide.

Holy macaroni Chuck,
you are the virtual pilot who just keeps on giving!!!!!
you just saved me time and my company money.
Do you wear your undies on the outside too???
I'll hang on 'til you finish tweaking your "CoD reference bible"
Cheers, yet again.
Once again, amazing work Chuck.
Thank you sincerely for your work!

Need some help here .... On my "old" computer I have no problems reading the PDF files from Chuck ... but on this "new" computer, even though I have Adobe Reader 9, I can not open the files. I come up with a blank page. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Absolute masterpiece! Can't imagine the hours involved studying, collating and producing. Everybody should be very happy and appreciative of your work.
Great job, thanks!
For bombers, I did some fuel consumption tests and I re-wrote the fuel loadout procedures.
Rather than evaluate your max range with range values found on the Internet that do not specify the aircraft configuration/loadout, now the range is estimated using fuel consumption values @ max military power. It is closer to what you'd expect and has a certain level of conservatism that I deem acceptable.
Also corrected a couple of typos, format glitches, oh and I added some explanation on the crossfeed valve for the Blennie... stuff like that.
I think this version is close enough to being final.
@Keeno
You can fire up that printer now.

Chuck the legend once again prevails.
Thanks for the updates and the printer/laminator are warming up as we speak. There's no way I can be the only obsessive compulsive nerd here is there.............is there...................anybody...........someone!
Hi Chuck
your work has helped me alot, brilliant!!
thank.
Hi Chuck,
thank you again for your awesome work. As I enjoy the lecture of it so much, I read also the set-up-section of Gyro & Compass. But I don't agree with your calculation when you are saying "add 10°" because of the magnetic declination: (quotation of the Hurricane-guide)
"....2.Align the red N on the white T by clicking on the course setter until both yellow-ishbars are parallel with it the white T. You will obtain a resulting “course” from the course setter (which is the blue text that pops up on your screen). Keep that number in mind. In our case, the number is a heading of 256. However, in order to take into account the effects of magnetic declination, you need to add 10 degrees to get the geographic north. For now, consider that your current heading is 266 degrees.
3.Set your directional gyro compass by clicking on the rotary knob to reflect the corrected heading obtained on your magnetic compass. In our case, set the gyro to 266. You will see the blue numbers pop again. You can use them as a way to fine tune your gyro...."
Instead of this you have to subtract 10°. Lets say our Spit is already bearing in a direction that the two bars are parallel with the T, then our plane is heading a real course of 350°, 10° less than 360°, so you set the gyro to the same Value. For bearing exactly North you turn 10° to the right and voilà, the gyro shows 0° and your plane is pointing vertical to North of your map. As the picture shows the T and the two bars are no more longer parallel, so I guess I did the procedure well.
Kurs 360.jpg
I do Clod for so long time now, I used to procedure of course & gyrosetting, but I had no Idea that the magnetic declination is represented in the game.I wondered always that flying to N,E,S,W never was exactly aligned with the edges of the map. Thanks to your Guide, now, a runway is appearing straight in front of me and no longer allays a little bit crooked to my position.
The guide should definitely be part of the next TF update of the sim. Literally be part of the download and be placed in a game sub-folder.
I also think there should be an "airplane guide" button in the very interface inside the sim which when clicked would open the pdf.
Thanks!
Hi Chuck,
I'm a complete newbie at this but your guides are an incredibly detailed piece of work. Thank you very much for all of the great effort which obviously went into them. I hope to join you in the sky shortly!
Worzel
Merci pour ce guide super détaillé
Gravity hunts me down more than any plane ever has!
A great effort mate, Thank you.
