Hi from the uk south coast ( COD Territory!)

Chuck Owl You Tube............... that's where it all started, thank you Chuck!

Throughout my school years I could not read enough about Douglas Bader, Bob Tuck, Sailor Malan, Neville Duke and the list goes on.

Now at 54, family and work commitments have absorbed the last twenty five years, but the books have remained on the shelves, waiting.

This is where Sim / Games really have a magic.... I have rediscovered all of those dormant interests and it is great.

Having only just downloaded ClOD in the last few days and I am a complete novice, the last time I looked at a flying sim was in the late '90's.

Last night was my first entry onto the server, having had two virtually all night sessions offline learning and setting up.

How cool was this, I couldn't believe the feeling of flying knowing other real world people were around me.. and some were out to get me. And get me one did, "Turk" pounced, I jumped out of my skin and realised I had no control (I didn't know how to bail out either!). I since understand that it is no shame to be shot down by Turk tho.

Fidget picked up the bits and spent a nice long session teaching me, how I needed that too. Sadly tho I thanked him by taxying right into his tail :/.
Fidget's time was hugely helpful, this and the welcome by Chuck and many others is really appreciated
    ..
...........And those books? Well 25 yrs of dust was removed and they are alive again!

    Thanks to all

    Ericarchie

    Welcome to the forum, ericarchie!

It's great to have a fellow Battle of Britain enthusiast/student discover us (thanks Chuck Owl! ) and give us your impressions of Cliffs of Dover & the Team Fusion patches, plus your experiences on the ATAG Server.

Glad you hooked up with Fidget; I can't think of anyone better to get you started plus lay on a few finer points in so doing. If you're flying Spits I'd love to hook up with you sometime and perhaps fly a sortie or two together.

    Thanks for the intro!

    Cheers,

    Snapper

    Welcome to this Community!
I would like to wish a lot of fun with all the nice persons that you will find around here.
If possible try to join Teamspeak server too while playing: it's the best way to have help and tips of any kind when you move your first steps in IL2 Cliffs of Dover, having fun and very often passing some hours laughing as a mad!
