I'd be grateful for info about the server Chief. I enjoy some ArmA, in fact I'm going to fire it up now

Fastfed, Shib, Doc and a few other guys have been playing on Chibi's Domination server. Set your ARMA II filter as "chibi" and you'll find it.

Keyboard for Infantry and ground vehicles, stick for aircraft.

Me too: was sorta looking in the ARMA forums, I'm so new at this, not sure where to be looking. What I would like to do is replace the mouse with TrackIR like we do in Clod

Keller Doc ?? what are you guys doing

Re: Keller and Doc working on the ground game.

    TrackIR works perfect for me.

I have mapped my keys for various items and needs that are comfortable for me.

It takes a some effort to get these all setup for yourself.

I can't use WASD for movement, I've always used the arrow keys since the Wolfenstein days.

Re: Keller and Doc working on the ground game.

About ready to join you guys on-line: one last vehicle issue

as soon as the engine starts any vehicle (Tow, Tank, Hummer) all start a turn to the left, even when I hit "S" for stop they still spin left.

is this correct (I am using arrows now) kinda getting dizzy here :blush!:

Re: Keller and Doc working on the ground game.

Make sure your Track IR didn't insert a command somewhere in your vehicle commands.

Also make sure under Vehicle Commands you have nothing bound under Car More Left and Car More Right.

Re: Keller and Doc working on the ground game.

Keller Thanks for the quick reply: as with any issue there is an answer

    first: not using TrackIR yet
second I deleted the commands for "More Left/Right didn't help

However here is some more info: The steering wheel is by default turned all the way to the left: When I hit the "Right" Arrow the wheel goes all the way right when I release the right arrow the steering wheel does not Center !!!!!! it goes all the way to the left

Thus the constant left turn hummmm certainly something in the controls

There has to be a key conflict somewhere. If you want, next time you see me on TS we'll have a look at your control settings and see what the heck is going on.

    I agree; theres an answer

NOW didn't you tell me when I D/L ARMA that you have to open certain parts of it first ?? when checking the integrity of the game I continue to come up with 1 file corrupted.

Re: Keller and Doc working on the ground game.

    1 corrupted already? Weird.

I believe that in order to run ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead "Combinded Operations" you must run Arma 2 at least once, and Operation Arrowhead once in order for "Combined Operations" to see both games.

Re: Keller and Doc working on the ground game.

    O. K Gang looks like I got it Whew???

Re-Downloaded 3 times had numerous errors (bad CD code ?? dont ask me

anyway after the third time I clicked in the "controls" on "default" to put everything back and you guessed it, it all works: but know i have controls i never had: before when I entered the vehicle started up and took off: no brakes, no reverse: so many commands were messed up.

So perhaps tomorrow (Sat) I'll get in the server and hook up, I'm ready to cause carnage

    Thanks for the help

Re: Keller and Doc working on the ground game.

I went on Chibi's Domination server yesterday and it is set up nicely. But though it seemed fun there is always the old spector .... i.e. everyone jumping into aircraft and blowing everything that moves to hell.

In example, someone wanted to attack the side mission. Cool .... I grabbed a chopper, waited for the other 3 or 4 to load on ...... ferried us to about a 1000 meters from the objective and landed and debarked. headed for the target on foot. One of the guys that flew with me grabbed the chopper (which had rockets) and him and someone with an Apachy attacked the target before we could even get close to the target.

Atleast the guy who took the chopper came back to get us .... that's a plus.

It's just my opinion, that as a Ground Combat Simulator, ArmA 2 has aircraft as a means of support, not supression. You call them in as neccissary.

Now do not get me wrong ... I love to pound things from the air ... it is neat dropping 6 big ones via a herrier or such. But is doea nothing for ground combat except take targets away from the boots on the ground.

    Nice server though .....

Re: Keller and Doc working on the ground game.

Good point Chief: I actually have been on the server christian gamers.net

and all their choppers are for support only (or thats what the briefing says) I assume if you use them for blowing stuff up you get booted
