Hi Danny. You sound familiar. If not on here maybe I see you on RC Groups? If so you will know me as damnandblastit, pouring out my usual tales of woe, lost aircraft and houses collapsing into coal mines?

    Welcome aboard.

Sure danny will agree. Your first port of call would be the hobbyzone supercub. Best trainer by far and spares readily available.

Yes lots to learn but you will learn it and find your strengths and weaknesses. I suck at dogfighting but shine at low level navigation <75ft agl and driving bombers. My air to air gunnery also sucks but I seem to be ok when manning the AA guns.
You WILL get shot down a lot and this makes some people embarrassed, but remember there is no shame in getting downed and no one thinks any less of you. As a bomber boy, I am well versed in getting killed. In fact it is the greatest skill I possess.

When you get in a fight for the first few dozen times the feeling is akin to taking a model on its maiden flight. You will be shaking with the adrenaline rush.

For those thinking of taking up RC, this little cartoon speaks sense......

Welcome Danny to ATAG ..... I'll look for you in the sky soon. That's a very nice aircraft you have there. Thanks for sharing it with us. And again, Welcome ...

Excellent message from the video Tinkicker but whom ever made it I kind of wish they had just sat down in front of a camera and shot it with two people. I'm not fond of the cartoon (moot point of course) but the message is understood clearly. Thanks ...

I know that feeling, 30 seconds flying and 1 hour climbing a tree to get that f....... plane out.

Welcome aboard!!! My father built Pappy Boyingtons Corsair when I was a baby. It was made from scratch and was as big as your "Old Crow". It hung over my bed growing up and I was always worried it would fall on me in the middle of the night.

This is a really great group and you'll meet guys from all over! I myself am from Canada. Enjoy buddy!!
