Glitch problem with Il2 Clifs of Dover

    Hi guys I'm new here

I have a wired glitch problem with my Il2 Clifs of Dover

Here is my video to describe my problem

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9BdYM0RYwg

    In the video It shows

The map flicking everywhere around when I move the mouse around the map even zooming in and out has no effect

The menu Writting is blur out and when I move my mouse over the word

All these faluts started occuring after Installed all the patchs from Team Fusion MOD web site http://teamfusion.theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/

    I download and installed

    MOD 3.0... 389MB
    MOD 3.01 Mini Patch... 11MB
MOD 4.0 Complete (Both files in one)... 2.1GB
    MOD 4.3... 571MB
    MOD 4.312... 130MB

I have quiet the game and came back in many times and glitch is still there every time

So I uninstalled Il2 Clifs and dover and Reinstall it to complete vanilla ( No mods) 1.11.20362

    Glitch is still there

Is the mods still Installed in the background affecting the game?

    Regards Maverick

Hi Maverick and welcome to the forum!

    Two things to try:

    1) Disable the Steam Overlay while in-game. To do this, open Steam, go to Settings, then In-Game. Uncheck the box for "Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game".

    2) Never start Cliffs of Dover from within the Steam program. Instead, after you get Steam running, go to where Cliffs of Dover is installed in your PC (usually in C:/Program Files (X86)/Steam/SteamApps/common/IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover. Scroll down to Launcher.exe and right click on it, then click on "Run as Administrator".

See if the game runs any better. Be sure to re-install the Team Fusion patches!

    This is typical of:
1.- Some overlay like teamspeak, sweetfx etc.
2.- Not having "desktop composition" disabled

As Colander pointed out, it is a DirectX related problem, some sort of overlay. If you have a AMD card disable "Raptor" program, if you have Nvidia card disable anything that can interact with the game, like video record/screenshots (at least for testing purposes to isolate the problem).

Re: Glitch problem with Il2 Clifs of Dover

    Hey Maverick

If I only could remember what I have done with decibel...

    Maybe try these steps:

    1. search for "logo.wmv" in your games-folder (C/Programms/Steam/Steamapps/Common/IL2CliffsofDover) and delete that thing. It is the ubisoft splash-intro. you don`t need that, and maybe removing it solves your problem.

    2. if you have an amd-card please uninstall raptor and AMD gaming evolved if you have them installed. They can cause problems like that.

    3. if that sill does not help, search for the launcher.exe in the folder I mentioned above, klick right on launcher.exe and select properties. Try to start Cliffs in different compatibility-modes, and disable desktop composition and any other visual things you can find under the properties-tab.

    4. If those steps don`t help, let us know!

    Cheers, hope that helped!

Well I certainly don't profuse to know as much as these fine pilots above but a quick question and a comment. From your video I don't see the MOD logo over the cross hairs which indicates the game is indeed modded. Steam may be changing things back. Make sure the Steam updater for CloD is unchecked. Secondly you did not indicate but are you playing the game after each mod install? What I'm saying is install one mod then start your game and go to single play to insure it runs ok. Then back out and install the next mod and repeat. This way you might be able to localize your problem to a certain mod version download which might be corrupted.

Have you cleared 'cache' directory? (windows7):
....\Users\.............\Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover - MOD\cache\ <- drop all files from this directory after or before installing patch. (Especially when you had run the game)

if you're running d3d overrider or AMD radeon pro switch them off, RadeonPro is what gave me a similar bug.

Re: Glitch problem with Il2 Clifs of Dover

Gents, thanks for all the assistance. Here's a problem in Blitz a friend is having:

When going into the cockpit in multiplayer, he opens the radiator and then clicks on the fuel selector tab to turn it to the main tank.
As soon as he clicks the fuel selector with the left mouse, it moves him out of the plane and onto the grass field. He then has to hot escape and retry getting into a new plane. We have reassigned the toggle fuel command to the Q key and searched for assignment conflicts for the mouse, finding none.
Any ideas why he would get kicked from the plane when trying to toggle the fuel with the mouse? The mouse works on other controls like the radiator, etc.
We have gone through all of his key assignments and there are no other functions using the left mouse button other than mouse control, assigned by default.
    Thanks for any assistance.

Re: Glitch problem with Il2 Clifs of Dover

Well he has done the qwik fix and assigned a key binding to toggle fuel cock.
Why hitting the fuel cock with a left mouse clik is giving u an Alt-F2 action I have no idea. Especially if using left mouse clik to use other components is working normally.
What happens if he hits Alt-F2 ? Be really weird if it toggles the fuel cock.
