External View Utility for Recorded Tracks

Hi all,

As Colander is simply amazing, he has made a utility that allows tracks recorded on our server (closed cockpit) to be processed which then allows external views in the track. So for all you movie makers, this now allows you to make a movie however you want on an external view server


UPDATE - This will only work if you have custom skins disabled while recording the track.
UPDATE 2 (from Colander) - I've modified it to handle the skins. Please report any issues found

Basically you will upload your track to the utility and it will process it and enable external views in the track to make your movie or even just to watch

We have a special user group setup on the forums that will allow access to the utility. That means you must be logged into the forums, and have access to the user group in order to process a track with the utility.

There is a "Track Editor" navbar button at the top of the forums that you will direct your tracks to.

YES !!!!!!! this is exactly what i need to make good Movies. I was missing the outside view in the online-trak from an full-switch-server since the game comes out. I dont want to cheat, i want to make cool movies like in IL-2 1946. I hope 1C see this and let the traks work again like in IL-2 1946. If sombody use it to cheat in a online-campaign he is a Kid or looser nothing more.

So now i only hope when i make a trak i dont get kicked, because i lost conectioin with the host, this happen to often when i try to recorde a flight.

So i ask, can i have accsess, please? :geek:

Sorry to sound ignorant.....where is this disabled? At plane setup page? (I thought this was set on the server side)

Yes, is set on the server side but...
All the server side does is disable the transfer of skins between clients. If you have it enabled on your side, the track format will be a bit different (I'll work on it when I have time) so it will not work.

For a client, the skins get disabled under the network tab in game. I believe there's a box you can check for skins inside of it "skins disabled" or what not.

Since we are talking of tracks, let me ask ..... to make a track ( I have tried and failed) you start it before going into the MP server/singleplayer game, correct? Then when you finish you come out of the MP server/single players game and turn it off, correct? Then you play it back how?

All,

The original issue with the "custom skins" was in reality due to "not using the default skin" (Thanks to ATAG_Headshot !)
I've modified the tool to accept this type of tracks now (with non-default skin being used by the track recorder). Please report any issues found.

Now I want to see movies! please send them in!!!

It's amazing how the spits can keep flying with more holes than wing.

I also loved the "good timing" to survive landing just to be on the middle of a bombing
