Re: If you have not tried this please do

I just tried it now on ATAG, although I was alone on the server for most of the time. To me the frame rates stayed good as always with my system, but the motion definitely felt smoother. Before JT's little fixit, whenever I would rapidly pan my head/TrackIR5 back and forth in a sweeping motion I would get the feeling of "stickiness", even though frame rates were remaining OK. After this little procedure of JT's everything definitely was buttery-smooth when I looked around outside quickly. Tomorrow I hope to see how it goes with many human opponents in the air. The best thing would be five or six enemy human-flown bombers -- this brought my system down to its knees (ie. ONE frame per second) the last time I tried attacking a human-flown bomber formation.

    Thanks for sharing this, Dawg!

    Hi Ohmie,

I did a quick check and there are no "infractions" inadvertantly placed against you. In fact, there are no infractions placed against ANYONE! LOL (I love this forum).

Dunno what caused this glitch, but if it persists we'll obviously have to dig deeper.

And, yeah, I'm paying the price today for swanning about the server-skies in the wee hours last night. Could've watched a Snooki rerun on TV instead, I suppose.....

I was on the server at the same time doing the exact same test, with the exact same conclusion. Not a huge improvement, but TrackIR did feel smoother.

Damnit Snapper, I kept trying to find you last night but couldn't.

I saw you were on and apologize for not hailing you on chat or TS.

I was engrossed with JT's little fixit, plus testing the endurance of overboost on the IIa. I'm hoping everyone will be super impressed with my 10 kills last night.....on unescorted bombers. LOL (Even then a cheeky AI He111 punctured my coolant system ). JTDawg came on TS for a bit to discuss his post, it's always good talking with JT! Next time I'll give you a shout across the Channel to see if you're up for a little 1 vs 1. I just hate embarrassing myself, is all.

I asked JTDawg the very same question, Knucks, and the answer is: JTDawg. He wasn't happy with the huge slowdown in frame rate that he (and many of us) experience when engaging small-to-large numbers of human-flown aircraft. He began to poke around in these system files and voila! I like to think he and I are exactly alike: keen intelligence and superlative flying skills matched only by our profound humility.

would someone post the exact way to bring up your Frame Rates: People keep saying the procedure on T.S. and I've never been able to write it down:

    Thanks

Here's another question : Shift + Tab brings up the "Console" what I get is like a face page for Clod, but there dosen't appear to be anywhere to type the info for the Frame rates

what exactly should this "Console" look like ??

The console is basically the chat window. Open it, right click, and choose recipients. It should List All, Friendly, Enemy, and console. Select console, then in chat box type "fps START SHOW".

    Had to say thanks JTDawg.

Am one of the lucky ones who never had probs before the last patch (GTX 580 3GB, Z68X-UD7-B3 M/B, Windows 7 Pro 64-bit), but since patch, never flew more than 3 minutes before screen started splitting, cockpit turning black, then re-appearing whilst top and bottom halves of screen alternately went black.

Applied your fixes, and all is back to normal, and smooth.

    Thank you very much indeed.

    Cheers

Hi ClipWing and welcome to the forum.

Good to hear JTDawg's suggestion helped fix things for you. It also resolved a few issues (stuttering) I was having awhile back which fortunately has not returned.
