IL-2: Cliffs of Dover Track Recorder Video Tutorial

    A YouTube tutorial for beginners.

    Index

0:52 - Recording a Track and what it includes
4:05 - Track Playback Basics & Movie Making Hints
13:08 - External View Enabling for ATAG tracks
16:35 - Key Mapping Ideas for Movie Making

Is the video below useful, or does such a tutorial already exist on ATAG somewhere? I looked, but couldn't find any.

    How can I help?

Re: IL-2: Cliffs of Dover Track Recorder Video Tutorial

    Thank you Turn!

Thanks to you, for the first time since joining here i have made a video .

I would record the video, and then replay it, only to see that initial screen where it looks like you are only seeing sea and sky, and i would give up.
When all i had to do was go into the cockpit! Sheesh.

Your video is very well done, and perfectly explained.

    So thanks again.

I made a track too but I got weird black squares and strange light effects in the screen centre.

Anyone have any ideas on the cause?

Re: IL-2: Cliffs of Dover Track Recorder Video Tutorial

Hasn't done this again for me since updating my NVidia driver (GTX 770).
    (knock wood)

    Tried that?

If so, perhaps a clean reinstall's worth a try. Just guessing, though.

Got new win 10 drivers. Not a problem really as making vids more of a fun idea rather than a priority. Still got shadow play. Thanks Turn.

Mindle, empty the cache folder in your MyDocuments, 1cSoftclub, team fusion-mod folder.
Launch game, load a single player mission, play it. See if it's fixed.

If not just repeat the process until it does. It's just the mod shaders conflicting. Deleting the cache and launching the game will fix it

Ok, just had a look at this tutorial, and I can already make and edit the trk files.

Need to find out how to actually make movies from those files.
Will have to search elsewhere I guess

Lase as far as I know you need an external video recording system.

If you have an Nvidea card, which I believe you do' then use 'Shadowplay' through the GEFORCE 'Experience' and see how you get on with that.

I know OBS which is free and downloadable is also good for this.

    Thanks for that Vamps.
Yes, I do have an Nvidea card, which as you know I am quite new too.

Briefly had a look at shadowplay, but couldn't get it to work properly.
I know that as trk files are purely game related files they cannot be converted to any other video formats for playing out of game, but I am hoping I can record my trk files as I play them.

Thanks for the heads up about OBS. I believe Lewis recommended that a while ago, just couldn't remember the name. If I cannot get on with shadowplay will try that one
