Lol this I have not tackled yet .. maybe tonight. I do like the kg12 grip quite a bit but I wish that they were truly "quick swap" but it sounds like you have to flash the memory in the black box every time you were to switch grips, or am I reading that wrong? So far I am impressed though, my accuracy has definitely improved.
As if I would insinuate........that a technical person of your magnitude would do that.
I merely meant that, as the very first UK 'Lee Marvin' Gunfighter had now taken up residence at Seas Villas, there was cause for a celebration.
I shall now 'rejoin the circuit'..........Bzzzzzzzzz!

Gunfighters now only in September.
MCG foldable trigger lost their "mustache" - due comfort considerations.

If VKB allowed payment by paypal I would snap one of those Mongoose babies up. That way I can get one without the Obergruppenfhurer (Wife) knowing I have spent the deposit for our hols next year and I can put it back later however I would need to speak to someone on ts who has one first before I take my life in my hands and get one my testes and blunt knife are the option if caught

I am intrigued by this grip, Virpil got same and it is Warthog compatible too.
The base interest me too, the clutch thingy making it non centering was to me most interesting.
Hope it got long live quality
Their store in Aliexpress (VKBSim) will accept - but is not properly set for now, after all they have no production for sell.
The grip in above picture - MCG PRO, is not compatible with Warthog bases - since has more buttons and axis that Warthog base can handle.
The model compatible with Warthog bases is MCG-TM with the same number of buttons/axis than their F-16'ish grip.

The clutches seem a bit misleading to me .. I was expecting something I could tighten all the way for a non return situation flying helicopters but tightening them to that point really makes the stick unpleasant to use, maybe I'm doing something wrong. It seems they are there just to minimize oscillation at best.
The idea behind "damper" - through grease (Warthog, Gladiator "vanila") or clutch (Gunfighter) is minime spring oscillation effect, this aid in some way in aim, as stick don't tend move more (due spring effect) that you want. Anyway is subjective, some people will see benefits, other not.

Ok That made it less interesting, I fly mainly DCS helicopters and WW2 airplanes. I have a hydraulic damped stick witch stay put where you leave it. And fine adjusting is done without moving the dampers. It require muzzle memory to get the stick centered when you fly airplane, but that come rather quick. Real airplanes stick center itself caused by airflow to the control surface when you are in speed, so for simmers flying exclusive airplanes , a self centering stick is a advantage and just as "realistic" if it is not sticky. Flying choppers a non centering stick is highly recommended , but not mandatory.
I haven't bothered with the dampers at all. I have them fully released.
To be honest not being able to adjust then without doismantling everything just sounds like more hassel than it's worth. I have the dismantle and rebuild down to a fine art now, what with all the cam and spring combinations ive tried... but even so... I could be there all month trying to get that "just right".
I think it really needs an external adjuster to make it useful. Nice idea... glad its there, I'm not using it though.

news just in:
Pre-Ordering starts October 1, 2017
Hi Guys,
Good news - pre-ordering for the next batch of VKB Gunfighters and select a choice of MCG grips will start October 1, 2017. I prepared VKBcontrollers.com with the new lineup of products - so have a look.
Here's a quick breakdown of these new products (subject to change as new information becomes available to me):
VKB Gunfighter + MCG Lineup:
Gunfighter Rev.B Modern Combat Edition + MCG
Gunfighter Rev.B Modern Combat Edition + MCG Pro
Gunfighter Pro Rev.B Modern Combat Edition + MCG
Gunfighter Pro Rev.B Modern Combat Edition + MCG Pro
NOTE: Rev.B pertains to the 3-pin connection having moved the pins into the grip to prevent damage when swapping grips! Rev.B grips/bases are not backward compatible with Gunfighter (first gen) bases and grips!
NOTE: The Gunfighter/Pro 'Vintage Edition' comes with the familiar KG12 grip.
VKB Gladiator Pro + MCG Lineup:
Gladiator Pro Mk.II Modern Combat Edition + MCG
Gladiator Pro Mk.II Modern Combat Edition + MCG Pro
NOTE: The Gladiator Pro 'Vintage Edition' comes with the familiar KG12 grip.
MCG / MCG Pro Standalone Grips Lineup (3-pin):
MCG Rev.B for Gunfighter Rev.B only
MCG Pro Rev.B for Gunfighter Rev.B only
MCG for Gladiator Pro Mk.II and Gunfighter (first gen) only
MCG Pro for Gladiator Pro Mk.II and Gunfighter (first gen) only
MCG TM Standalone Grips Lineup:
MCG TM for TM Warthog bases only
MCG / MCG Pro Standalone Grips Lineup (5-pin):
NOT AVAILABLE DURING THE FIRST PRE-ORDER RUN (UNDER DEVELOPMENT)
One MCG/MCG Pro 5-pin variant will be compatible with the Gladiator Pro Mk.I and Vintage Mamba, while the other variant will be compatible with the Black Fat Mamba Mk.III
MCG-Left (3-pin):
NOT AVAILABLE DURING THE FIRST PRE-ORDER RUN (UNDER DEVELOPMENT)
MCG - Left (3-pin) variants should be compatible with Gunfighter Rev.B and Gladiator Pro Mk.II; other versions pending (there won't be a MCG-Left version for TM Warthog bases)
MCG Twist Adapter:
NOT AVAILABLE DURING THE FIRST PRE-ORDER RUN (UNDER DEVELOPMENT)
The MCG Twist Adapter will be compatible with all MCG variants except for the MCG TM, as the TM Warthog base does not support analog axes
I will keep you updated about the development of the other MCGs (5-pin and left-hand versions), as well as the Twist Adapters availability as I learn more. I also hope to have a final MCG announcement out around October 1 - so stay tuned for more info soon.
NOTE: Pre-ordering is contingent upon having received final pricing from VKB HQ prior to October 1, as well as having received a good ETA for shipment to start from VKB HQ. Worst case, pre-ordering slips by a few days.
NOTE: When pre-ordering, your credit/debit card will not be charged until the product is available for shipping from VKB HQ; if the shipping date slips, the pre-ordering plugin allows me to push back the shipping date without affecting your pre-order status.

well..
first off they are a boat load of money... but that aside...
My take on this when i was looking (not just at VKB) was to get something with a good quality cam based gimble.
Turned out that VKB made a gizmo that woudl allow me to use the Warthog grip on their base... and that is pretty much where my search ended.
If i didnt already have that grip I'd have most likely taken a way way cheaper route.
I hated the warthog base. others here love it. I have no idea why. (It's utter pants).
the grip itself however is superb.. as is the throttle unit...
if you are just edging into this then id seriously recommend getting a cheaper stick. MS sidewinder II is a hot favourite... £10-£20 second hand.
if you are looking to make a sim pit type affair then that most likely wont cut it.
But if you are playing from a desk. Save yourslf a few hunderd quid and get a cheap (godd) stick. rthe old Microsoft kit is great... anything (USB not Gameport) by CH products is excellent.
so.... tell us more about your setup...
(I have turned a table into a very passable simpit by the way... so it is possible with a bit of creativity)
Over to you ! describe your playing environment !

Thanks SEAS for your input it's appreciated! I am new to SIMs (Jan '17) single player. Old gezzer (etc category) experienced tail dragger private pilot flying ClOD in as much realism as I am able to manage. So far doing pretty well. My goal is to maximize flight and flying navigation skills in AC of WWII era. My set up is listed in my signature info below and pictured here: 2017-09-28_22-09-06.png

Wisdom of Joysticks (Standard Edition)
VKB Gunfighter - very good - expensive and difficult to get hold of. Standard grip probably wont have enough buttons compared to a regular gaming stick. You'll also need a throttle.
Above with MCG (Modern Combat Grip) - not even out yet but will have sufficient buttons - still need a throttle though as there are no axis on the device for stuff like this.
VKB Gladiator - various versions - cheaper one have plastic gimbals and a twist stick rudder - Pro have metal gimbals and NO twist rudder. Not designed for use with extensions.
Virpil - like the VKB in terms of rough concept but not many reviews yet - stick will not be suitable for desk use. Too tall. Looks to be good quality. General consensus is that the VKB design is slightly better.
Thrustmaster T1600M. Best budget stick you can buy new. Also comes in a set (I think) with rudder pedals and a throttle.
MS Sidewinder - Precisions (non feedback) 10-20 quid. Sidewinder FFBs between £25 and £90 on average (depends on who is selling and what they know about it) - very hard to get at a bargain price but not impossible. Important that you get the "2" version.
Warthog - poor gimbal design but can be DIY improved. Seem to be liked better used with extensions - Throttle sometimes available separately better suited for jets (no rotary axis) but perfectly good for WW2 sims. Some concerns about the Throttle "Bricking".
Cheers BOO
