Hitching a ride on AI flights

What's the possibility of being able to climb in the AI bombers flights to man the guns? Is this something that's possible? Or could be possible in the future? Sounds like it would be fun..They always atract action..

    Cheers

I've done this quite a few times, Ribbs.

Join their gunner position just like you would a human bomber. Be in the map and within about 5 miles from them. You can only join fly-able plane, and you can even take over their pilot controls. Yes, you can steal planes from AI.

This also makes gunner practice a lot easier since the AI flies straight and level. Be prepared to jump to the next AI bomber once yours gets shot down.

Caution: Do not jump from plane to plane. Leaving the AI's plane will cause them to lose control and fall out of the sky.

    Good luck and have fun.

This might be a daft question, but from the main screen once you've connected to the server, how do you actually find other AI or human planes to jump into the gunner positions?

Cool Re: Hitching a ride on AI flights

What !!! i can be a gunner and not have to worry about flying.

So cool, does the aircraft have to be friendly.

    Or could i jump from a Hurri to a HE 111 ?

    Best regards,
    Mike.

The list of pilots on the right hand side. Double click a gunner position.

Make certain you ask the pilot first. Jumping in without asking is NOT ok....

I for one do not like losing my rear view seat.

You can also select flak guns from that same screen by changing the drop down at the top.

    Kinda cool.

Select an airfield, pick a plane, spawn in. Hit ESC, then under the drop down menu on the right of the map, make sure you select "everything"..... then you will see a list of all the AA guns and what squares they are in, then pick which one (where you want) and double click on it. Then instead of it going back to your plane you had previously, it puts you into the gun.

You can also drive trucks/tanks around as long as they are selectable at an airbase, that process is exactly the same as picking a plane.

I can show you when next we're on Brett. We sometimes log into the guns for a laugh. Don't this we have ever hit anything tho.
