    Trouble in Connecting to TeamSpeak

Hi chaps, not been around here for a bit as had to do a complete re-install on my computer however, I am now back and been trying to get Team Speak connected but coming up against a brick wall!

Had followed the tutorials however, after installation I did not get the options of setting up my microphone or even choosing a transmit key to speak the program just launched into the main screen so tried to connect and even though I put in the target address 216.52.148.29:9987 and also the password it could not connect me as it did not find the server.

Unfortunately the setup of Teams Speak 3 is nothing like that of the video tutorials so presently I am stuck.

Please see below of the connecting screen shot. For the password I put ATAG TEAMSPEAK have tried various ways without success.

Any help would be gratefully received, will not be back until late tomorrow or Tuesday.

    Regards
    Nigel.

Hi Mike and very many thanks put in the password and got connected Spoke to Lolsav for a time whilst I was on and had a very enjoyable chat. Also found out how to configure microphone and after some tips from Lolsav (hope I spelt that right) I just need a few days in which to set up my flight controls properly and then I am ready for some-one to use me as target practice!

    Regards
    Nigel.

    Hi Nigel,

you picked the right community and forum for CLOD, buddy.

I have only been here myself just over a month.

But the help given so freely and the welcome when i joined.

Was nothing like any other gaming community, i had come across.

Ask as many questions as you wish and someone will always try and help you.

Took me weeks to get the old Hurri off the ground, which i can do now 9/10 attempts.

That was all down to the help and encouragement i received from all the members and in particular the ATAG boys.

On top of that it is a fantastic sim to play, but with a huge learning curve.

    All the best,
    Mike.

Hi Mike, I joined this Forum some months back but due to other commitments I have held off until now to get Teamspeak running.

Not long to go before I become bait to some sharp eyed pilot!

    Regards
    Nigel.

Great sim, great forum, great community and all for only £9.99.

    All the best,
    Mike.

Glad that you have got your TS up and running as that is the best way to get help with any issues that you might be experiencing, although it is good to post in the forum to.

This is a very helpful, and welcoming community, as you will no doubt be aware of by now, and I look forward to seeing you in the virtual skies soon

Hi Mike, no worries looking forward to some on-line combat though still setting up controls for Spitefire, Hurricane and heaven forbid the ME109!!

As a matter of interest I am just down the road from Lincoln as I live in Grantham.
Hi 07, and many thanks for your welcome, I come down to Grantham with my wife about once a month or so to the DownTown store, really pleasant store to browse and often go for a coffee across to the garden section. Picked up many books at reduced prices from the main store written by pilots from the Battle of Britain telling their stories. Some very interesting reading can be found about aviation there sometimes.

Hi Atag_Laser, can't agree more, since I joined everyone who has replied to my posts made me feel extremely welcome.

Really looking forward to joining which will be just a matter of days away now just trying to perfect my shooting but the 109s' aren't playing ball and keep twisting and turning away from me!!

    Regards
    Nigel.

Hi Nigel, after spending all my time since i purchased CLOD, flying the Hurricane.
I have decided that my niche is with the Blenheim (bomber version).
So if you do meet me up in the great blue yonder, in your 109, please be gentle.
If you are flying a Spit or a Hurri, i might need escorting.

    Best wishes,
    Mike.

Hi Mike, getting used to the Spitfire at the moment so you can rest assured you are safe for the time being!

    Hi Nigel,

i will try not to collide with you if we are taking off from the same base, buddy.

It is a likely possibility, with my steering.

    Best wishes,
    Mike.

Hi Mike, going off-line soon as have to keep wife company! but briefly went onto the server and it took me 3 attempts to get airborne, crashed twice for god knows what reason aircraft would not accelerate (Spitfire) and tipped over, 2nd time my brakes did not work and smashed into the side of the hanger finally got airborne and just went for a flight across the channel as a lone wolf to see what pickings there were and I must have knocked my lever for radiator shutter closed as I was distracted and the engine started to seize.........ended with a very cold bath in the channel! Busy tomorrow but might join a squadron in the afternoon if any-one wants me after all this!!

    Regards
    Nigel.

    Hi Nigel,

yeah been there and done all that buddy, all good fun.

Do you start your engine and taxi with prop pitch at 100%

That can cause the aircraft to carry on moving even with the wheel brake hard on. Something which was very kindly told to me a few weeks back.

Propeller torque is able to overcome the brake, even at idle.

I have switched to the Blenheim bomber permanently now Nigel. More my kind of thing, can never see myself being any good at dog fighting.

Have you bailed out yet and come down under a chute, i think it's brilliant (little things etc)

I haven't flown the Spit much and then only the IIa Rotol 100, but i found the narrow track of the wheels. Harder to control on take off than the Hurricane.

No-one here will discourage you from using the MP server buddy, the exact opposite in fact.

Everyone has to start somewhere buddy.

    Best regards,
    Mike.

    Hi again Nigel,
A few tips to avoid crashing on take of in a spit,

    1) Apply the power gradually. Once you are rolling in a straight line, (controlled by the rudder), hold it there and gently open up the throttle to full power

    2) Apply slight right aileron to counteract the engine torque and avoid tipping to the left

    3) At 110mph (about 4 seconds after the nose drops) gently ease back on the stick, but don't try and climb too hard or you will stall out.

    Hope this helps, good luck

Hi Mike, yep, took off yesterday on the server and thought that some-one had called me (not sure) but I had the engine volume too loud and hearing others speaking was very difficult (found that you cannot change anything once airborne)

After 3 attempts to get airborne yesterday I finally made it so continued across the channel to see what I could find (brave, stupid or what)? Babs brought me in a drink and between looking around I must have hit the lever for the oil radiator as the next thing I knew the engine was running rough with oil splattering the windshield then abruptly stopped!! Only one thing for it and that was to hit the silk for a very cold dip in the Channel. I have baled out before but once the parachute failed to deploy, I was gutted.

I don't actually think that the Luftwaffe need to send in their bombers and 109's to defeat the RAF, I seem to be doing that myself!!

Hi Atag_Laser and many thanks for the advice, I think I must have been trying to take-off in coarse pitch instead of fine, so many thanks for the advice.

    Nigel.

Cool Re: Trouble in Connecting to TeamSpeak

Hahahahahaha, nice one Nigel Had the same, chute failed to open not half as much fun being virtual dead.

Mind you i have bailed out over the channel, chute has deployed and then i was told i had drowned.

I know i cannot swim, but that is neither here or there.

You and me both Nigel, wrecking the RAF from the inside.

Pleased to know you are having fun buddy.

    Best regards,
    Mike.
