Throttle jumps to 100% by itself

OK, confirmed in that QM - Dogfight Low Level - tested with default planes, Spit x Bf 110.

Tested with throttle on keys and in axis, no difference. With my ConfUser.ini.

Is difficult to test, because AI rarely get on player 6, they prefer other AI.

Throttle go by itself to 100%, but don't seems related to AI in you 6, but to enemy plane proximity.
I hit a Bf 110, kill their gunner and little after throttle jump, hit F6 and no other enemy near in my 6.

Happen too flying Bf 109E like you suggest.

I try two other missions -Hurri against Do-17 and against G.50 - and this don't happen.

Other QM "haunted" is Spit's intercepting He 111's over London, in this mission your parachute never open.

Almost everything I wrote so far in this thread might be very wrong.

Here's a movie of this odd behaviour:

at 3-5 seconds I adjust the prop-pitch and throttle - after this I only move the joystick and never touch the throttle or prop-pitch
from 25 - 40 seconds as I merge with the Bf 110's my throttle does involuntary things outside my control

This mission was played from the menu Single Player / Single Mission.

Therefore this bug is NOT confined to Quick Missions!

If you are refering to these missions:
Dogfight Advantage Allies
Bomber Intercept low level

The problem is there depending on which side you fly for and in which type of plane:

Dogfight Advantage Allies, fly in the G50 instead of the hurricane, the throttle jumps.

Bomber Intercept low level, change the Do 17 to a 109 or G50 and fly for the Germans, the throttle jumps.

Heavy bombers do not seem to have this throttle problem, either if controlled by player or when you are attacking them in a fighter, the throttle is normal.

Two things seem to be influencing this bug:
1. The type of plane flown, fighter/bomber/other
2. The mission orders for each flight or group

Please do go on investigating: The sooner you find a pattern, the more chance we have to squash this bug. Try to simplifiy the missions (both: where it happens and where it doesn't) further and further until you found the most basic difference...

Yes, I test this two only with default planes, don't notice throttle jump, even when damaged by a G.50.

But in that QM - Low Leve Dogfight Spit x Bf 110 I notice in Spit (default plane).

I remember that this happens to me before, but I supposed a joystick spike (at long time I using only a bad Saitek Cyborg, due laziness to use my HOTAS).

And as in combat I fly almost all time "full throttle" or constantly managing throttle, don't pay more attention to issue (after all CloD "It's CloD!"), after that "jump" throttle still under your control.

It reminded me that I had coppied some of the Quick Missions into the Single Missions so I could edit them in the Full Mission Builder.

This may be a clue because the original Single Mission missions don't have the throttle problem but, the missions I had copied across from Quick Missions do have the problem.

Something in the way the fighters are set up in the Quick Mission files is different to the way fighters are set up in the Single Mission files.

Quick Missions: fighters have throttle problem.
Single Missions: fighters don't have throttle problem.

Question is why ? What is different in the way those two types of missions have been set up ?

Some of the above is wrong. After more testing, the bug is also there in Single Missions.

It seems to depend on the AI mission orders for each waypoint. Any orders that allow the AI fighters to engage in combat, trigger the player throttle bug.

If the AI mission orders do not allow combat, the player throttle is fine.

ENGAGE ENEMY FIGHTERS

NORMAL FLIGHT

These mission orders allow AI fighters to attack the player's fighter and cause the throttle to jump in close combat.

It's not a solution I'm afraid, but it's a clue to the root of the problem. I hope access to the source code means these little glitches are easier to resolve.
