    Re: Happy birthday Ziegler

    Of course

Ziegler was one of the founding members of 9./JG52 , he lived in Machias Maine , served his country in the Vietnam war
as a medevac pilot flying Hueys and he passed away 18 months ago .His death was sudden and unexpected so it hit us really hard, so much so we were contemplating disbanding the Staffel and indeed 2 of our members packed it in within a week.
Anyway after much support from people on this forum and the community in general we carried on.
He spent a lot of time helping people out setting up their gear for Clod that's the type of person he was always willing to help

We miss Ziegler very much and as long as I am involved in this sim I will honour his memory by posting on the date of his birth and passing on this forum . Yellow 7 as is on the bottom right of my signature has been retired and will never be used again by anyone in this unit as a mark of respect and in honour of Zieg .
I don't know if there's an afterlife but hopefully there is and Zieg is slaying Reds shouting HORRIDO as he did in the short time we knew him down here.

R.I.P 9./JG52 Ziegler one of the best

Meyer, thanks for sharing that with us newbies; he sounds like he was a true pillar of the community.

As tough as it must have been to lose your friend so unexpectedly, you're surely doing the best thing you can to honour his memory by keeping the staffel flying.

    Hi Meyer,

That's a nice touch to remember your squad member like this.

I didn't know him myself but I remember being moved by a video somebody made, shortly after he passed away. It was by an ATAG member I think and it was very well made and a fitting tribute to him and the squad.

If you know the video I'm referring to, you may wish to post it too. I'm sure the folks of our community would appreciate it and it was a really nice way to honour him.

    Best regards

    Prey
