    Video Editing Software for Windows

    Hi all,

I'm currently in search of a free video editing program for Windows. I'm currently trying to use Da Vinci Resolve but I'm getting issues with rendering videos while using it. When I've searched the internet, it just brings up advertisements and there have been a lot of issues with said programs when I look at reviews. I am looking for something that can splice videos together and trim them foremost.

    Thanks!
    Eagle

There is Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) Eagle

    https://obsproject.com/download

I know nothing about the program, havent used it so cant vouch for it, but there is info on the forums here re setup and use as there are a few pilots here using it. A pool of user knowledge if you will.

Sp00k, does OBS have editing capabilities? Which program did you use to edit the video you posted yesterday?

I started using Lightworks this weekend. The free version will allow you to pretty much do everything but you are limited to exporting videos at 720p. If interested I can also share a 25 minute YouTube video that was incredibly helpful for getting started.

OBS does not have editing capabilities to my knowledge, I use that for recording.

As for the video that I posted yesterday, that's actually raw footage with careful timing of when to start and stop recording.

I personally want to try to find something similar to iMovie because I could use that quite well when I had a Mac and I'd rather not downscale even further because I record in 1920 by 1200. I probably should get a new monitor at some point but right now that is not in the budget for me.

Good selection to work through here. Hopefully one you'll feel comfortable with?

Also a good selection here. A friend of mine is really impressed with Hitfilm which you can get for free if you share their link on Twitter

Well, I did say I know nothing about it heheh.

I use a program called Wondershare. It cost me $50 USD. It's no Sony Venus, but it has some nice features, an easy user interface and is stable.

I always enjoy player videos so good luck with it. Hope you find a program you like with the promise of videos to come

Re: Video Editing Software for Windows

Thank you everyone! Apologies for the delay in replying, this week had just been a long one so I'm going to be testing them now. I'll be trying to get a video up from the video editor of choice and let you guys know.

    Edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N05s...ature=youtu.be

Hitfilm seems like it will be a keeper. Only issue that I have thusfar is the downsizing to 1920 by 1080 but I'm going to try to configure on recording that way because it is more standard to do that.
