    Greetings!

First must say im impressed by this simulator and the mods you guys have made! This is exactly what i've been looking for
I have been flying some hours now and briefly been on the teamspeak channel, looking good!
Before i have been playing War Thunder simulator battles and most of my viritual flight experience comes from that.
WT is just getting too "arcadeish"/silly for me now with friendly markers, sounds from other planes in cockpit, bomber-gunners laser-guided mouse-aim and abominations like turboprops figthing 109 gustav's.
I want more realistic/historical battles.I have also done som flying in FSX and DCS, but its the WW2 scene that is the most interesting to me and DCS is not so suited for that at this point.
Been flying mostly bf109 i both WT and DCS.

My search for a WW2 flightsim brought me to Clod. Looking forward to flying with you guys, and i need to step up my game, as i usually get bounced and shot down in the ATAG-server. Cheers!

Hi Gridset....you're experience of wanting the most realistic and historically correct WWII flightsim is exactly what the rest of us who fly CLoD were looking for too! And you've found it! Welcome to the ATAG Forum and Servers. You have arrived at probably the best flight sim in the world for realistic WWII air fighting. It's full real and a very steep learning curve but you sound like one of us, in that I know you're going to relish the challenge. You have also arrived at a very exciting time when the clever guys at Team Fusion Simulations are working on big improvements that are going to appear soon.

I'm very glad you have already experienced Team Speak. Stick with it because it will put you in touch with the fantastic community that backs this sim... a more friendly...helpful and welcoming crowd you couldn't hope to meet. Any problems post on the Forum and somebody will be along very quickly to offer a solution or three. Best of luck....have fun and we hope to meet you in the virtual skies very soon. Salute!

Welcome to the Community and Forums gridset ...~S~

Checkout the 'Beginners Guide'...for info and tips...It will save you a heap of time in getting up to scratch.....and its a really fun learning curve too...

    Beginners Guide

    Windows Management Guide

Also try youtube for startup procedures on all the aircraft...

I recommend getting in the online server as soon as you can take off if that's ultimately where you'd like to fly...I flew single player for 30 minutes before I took the plunge...The ATAG online server is a great environment to learn and there's not really any damage you can do in there as a new player.....It is also mission based just with real players trying to foil your objectives...If you are concerned then pick an airstrip furthest from the front line (there always is one or two on every map) and get some alt before you go hunting...You'll get tagged a lot but there are tricks you learn out of pure desperation in those first few weeks that you'll be able to use later...I know cos I still use the same tricks I learned then too because they work...and never underestimate the stall to get you out of a tight fix...That sometimes works too...

TeamSpeak is optional but you'll learn a whole lot faster with it even if you say very little once you are on the server...You are quite welcome to just listen if you feel more comfortable with that....so you don't actually need a mic either...Try it and see!

    Welcome gridset!

I also hopped over from War Thunder earlier this year and haven't played War Thunder since! This sim is so much more engrossing, and the community is thoroughly engaging - I'm glad that you found us and will join us up in the troubled skies!
