I think someone should port over Operation Relinquish to this map. It is the right area and it's a very fun mission.
Yes, that would be something!
I'm looking forward to seeing (and downloading ) some of the Normandy missions which will incorporate the WW2 Assets Pack. Not sure if my PC could handle a full blown D-Day scenario, but it'd be fun to find out!

Looking forward to it as I have it and the asset pack on pre order, something I said I was not going to do, but in VR, flying Caucusus can be "challenging" to framerates when low, with the low res terrain showing its age, and NTTR desert scenery is dull as ditchwater, although the newer, more efficient engine means frame rates are acceptable.
Hoping Normandy will address these issues.
However, I will say that the TF CLoD scenery, from my experience, judging against the youtube vids, looks to be well up there, despite it being 5 or so years old now. An achievement TF can be rightly proud of.
Be nice to to fly over Northern France again in my Hog, using the whisky compass and dead reckoning and running in on target with Flak 37 bursts around my canopy instead of a deedledeedle and a column of of white exhaust smoke rising from the ground with malicious intent.
No intention of buying spitty though, or any other ww2 planes for that matter, still waiting for CLoD to support VR for my 1940s fix.

VR is on the way, but won't be here for TF 4.5... hopefully TF 5.0. So you might want to try out DCS while you wait.
We do have to redo the cockpits of the older CoD planes... because these have sections done in 2D to save framerate... these would need to be brought up to full 3D. Our new planes are having their cockpits done completely in 3D from the start.

Updating DCS 2.05 to 2.1 now. After update to 2.1, Normandy map should be available.
It's here!

This is great news!
Unfortunately, I am still experiencing stuttering issues (https://theairtacticalassaultgroup.c...ad.php?t=24899) and I'm not sure if the new version will solve it. At the moment I cannot justify spending $60 to find out, but I look forward to joining you all at some point in the future when I get a new system!

Updated DCS World 2 OpenAlpha 2.06 to 2.1 now. Normandy map does not exist in module manager. (I've S\N like backer)...
I found this recommendation on the main forum
No Normandy DLC?You tried to download Normandy via cmd and still no there?
open Command prompt and navigate to DCS World 2/bin -folder and run:
dcs_updater.exe install NORMANDY_terrain
I have not tried it yet, reinstalling 2.1 on the same local disk with 1.5
I found the same as that, post 36 here (well kindof):
https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.p...89#post3148789
I haven't tried though. Prob wait for a rainy day..maybe.

Freya, i went to the forums site that you posted and followed what Coxy_99 posted, and it seem s to be working.
Not sure what it will do after it downloads the 4.4 GB file, because it doesn't ask for a serial number prior to starting the download.
So go into Eagle Dynamics > DCS World 2 OpenAlpha > bin, and then, as Coxy states: Lshift+Right click over bin in open alpha click open the command window put in this: dcs_updater.exe install NORMANDY_terrain do the same for assets pack to.
After that is downloaded, do the same again, but enter this: dcs_updater.exe install WWII-ARMOUR to get the other bits.
Good luck.
If i run into problems (it's presently at 20%) i will let you know.

For Windows 10 users, here's a summarized way to load the Normandy Map and then the World War 2 Assets Pack into ver 2.1
https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php...8&postcount=96
This fixed it for me, ED should probably make it a sticky or something = less digging required for others.

go into your Eagle Dynamics/DCS World/bin folder.
There, hold Left Shift and right click and click "Open Command window here."
(NOTE: the new windows 10 has moved to powershell, in powershell type cmd )
then one at a time use
DCS_updater.exe install NORMANDY_terrain
DCS_updater.exe install WWII-ARMOUR
Actually, it will be more efficient to do
Code:
DCS_updater.exe install NORMANDY_terrain WWII-ARMOUR

Ok, with the multiple versions of dcs over the last while things got funky on my machine as well, however i always managed to sort them out.
One thing is Skatezilla's little app, which really has worked well for me.
Small little exe download, dump/extract it to your root folder. (game install folder)
So if you have 3 folders, drop the exe into each one, open the root folder, hit the exe, then hit the update button.
Then simply run the update.
Works like a charm for me.

I have dcs normandy alpha, havent updated 1.5 or 2 yet as i have no data to do so (end of the month blues) , but if i start the process it wants to get going with a major update, and all my versions (including the stand alone normandy alpha) are up to date with the exception on the normandy stuff.
If I run the normal updater I get nothing for 1.5 or 2.0 to update, but with skates app, it wants to pull it down.

If it's brown, shoot it down!
2 things
First some people over on BOS are reporting that they cannot load missions because they haven't got the assets pack
BUT
I think they are probably wrong........
My experience
I followed the advice above the first key I was asked for as the game launches was the asset pack (if you have it).
I was not asked for the map key.
If this happen to you....
go to the module manager you should see the map under installed and terrains and you can activate it there by clicking the button on the right
Entry code and you are golden.
IF YOU JUST TRY AND LAUNCH A QUICK MISSION WITHOUT ACTIVATING THE MAP FIRST (in the hope that the activation box pops up.......)
......you may get stuck in a screen you cant tab out of (well you can but if you try to open another window it wont let you) - I could see the activation window but couldn't tab it OR close DCS with task manager.
Regards

I wasn't able to see Normandy in my brand new 2.1 install module manager, but I am now downloading it and the assets from the command method.
Can I just copy my planes over from 1.5 or do I have to download them fresh?
(EDIT re below, helps if i point the app to the right directory) dumbass
Well, after standing on the church tower singing praises, all of a sudden the updated skate utility is hitting blanks for me. After years of working and all of a sudden zero's.
Before I posted the vs I had installed was going to pull updates, sry not sure which.
The new version ignores 90% of my paid aircraft as well, its just a screen with nothing else.
