Good job...Looks like you got the hang of it pretty quick...

Don't forget to use a 'panel finder' to locate joins in panels...Its a laborious process but good fun when you get your work right....

    Have fun man!

    and.....

Welcome to the Community and Forums Ceaser87...~S~

Also try youtube for startup procedures on all the aircraft...

I recommend getting in the online server as soon as you can take off if that's ultimately where you'd like to fly...I flew single player for 30 minutes before I took the plunge...The ATAG online server is a great environment to learn and there's not really any damage you can do in there as a new player.....It is also mission based just with real players trying to foil your objectives...If you are concerned then pick an airstrip furthest from the front line (there always is one or two on every map) and get some alt before you go hunting...You'll get tagged a lot but there are tricks you learn out of pure desperation in those first few weeks that you'll be able to use later...I know cos I still use the same tricks I learned then too because they work...and never underestimate the stall to get you out of a tight fix...That sometimes works too...

TeamSpeak is optional but you'll learn a whole lot faster with it even if you say very little once you are on the server...You are quite welcome to just listen if you feel more comfortable with that....so you don't actually need a mic either...Try it and see!

    Re: First attempts at skinnig

When you're doing all the finicky matching you can keep the viewer in game open (ie you don't have to keep starting and stopping the game) -

make a change and, export it to the location of the original file in the paint software (ie overwrite it), go back to the in game viewer, pick another skin then reselect the skin you are working on. The updates are now shown. Its best if you name the skin you are working on 1A1_whatever so its always the top skin.

Working in the FMB is better than in the viewer as you get the current light tones with the aircraft placed as a static object but I'm not sure if you can do the same as just in the viewer (although I'm betting that you probably can).

    Good first effort BTW!!

Oh yeah...I forgot...and the very first thing you need to be able to do is spell 'skinning'...

    Haha...Please forgive me...couldn't resist!

    Re: First attempts at skinnig

    Welcome aboard.
    Great first attempt Mate
Lewis and Boo giving great advice I would also suggest toning down the colours as they are to vivid
and use Gaussian Blur on the camouflage to soften the edges.
With plenty of practice you will get better results but all in all a Great first attempt.
    Regards
    Keith

@Atag_Lewis:My first post about skins in Clodo and I´m already failing at the title...
Well,as long as I just keep failing at the title and not the skins themselve it should be okay.

@KeefyBoy:Thanks for the tip with the Gauassian Blur.

I also created three new skins:

Another simple reskin for the Spit 100oct:

Spit MkIIa flown by George Beuerlings:

Hurricane flown by the Irish Air Corps:

And here are some examples of the shown skins I reworked with the Gaussian Blur:
