    edit: reinstalled KB4038788 and then updated with KB4040724, gave it a few goes on Atag without a crash, launcher screen comes up ok. Don't have much time this week to fly or test extensively but holding thumbs it's sorted.
    2017-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4040724) has been released 9/28/2017 and removed and replaced KB4038788 for me even when hidden or updates were paused. CLoD seems to work fine now and Windows 10 update has no more warnings.
