    Hell get loose - kickstarter

Combat looks OK, not the usual "FPS" = Fast Paced Shooter of Bf's and COD's.

Managed to back this early and get 1 of 200 discounted packages. It sold out in about 15 minutes!

This is probably my second favourite genre of game after flight sims. Things like Squad and Project Reality are awesome and I really want a WWII game in the same vein.

After backing DCS Normandy I thought I'd not bother with kickstarter again, but this looks very tempting!

Was pretty impressed after watching that, especially after playing the awful COD:WWII Beta.

They have reached their funding goal already!

Personally I thought this was a fairly safe project to back, as at least they had a working version of the game in alpha state before starting the kickstarter, whereas the DCS WWII Kickstarter had pretty much nothing...

They really hit their goal quick, hats off to the devs - I for one am very excited to see the future of this game.

I feel that all these attempts at realism are defeated by all the team being able to communicate effortlessly... - totally changes the dynamics of a firefight.

Would be good to have in-game comms that only allowed players close to each other to talk/shout.

    Well the alpha is out.

Pretty fun so far (only played 2 and a half rounds - the server crashed on one of them.) It's very slow paced which is awesome. My third round I stayed alive the whole round. Graphics are pretty good too.

Here's a bit of a clip from that round.

To be honest I'm kinda disappointed in Post Scriptum..Clunky game play , and I find it hard to identify enemy in the distance. This game looks amazing..and the foliage looks way more realistic. Not to mention the rag doll physics and gore.

Here is a side by side comparison. I will be getting this when it comes out! It also has more of a Band Of Brothers feel.

I respectfully disagree. That is not a side by side reference of PS vs HGL that displays a fair comparison of both as they stand today. The HGL video is clearly biased and comparing shots and majorly fails to draw an accurate comparative assessment of PS vs HGL. Take the Church in the vid for HGL for example, Ill be buggered if it doesn't look almost exactly like the Churches in PS but instead of showing a church, it shows a small red residential building in comparison. When comparing weapons, it fails to show the companion weapon in PS. ie. Thompson Submachine gun vs Thompson Submachine gun. Vid doesnt do it, but PS has it and its the equal if not better. Videos showing both raising and firing weapons look almost identical (Suspect this is the engines being used having similar makeup) HGL video looks like its been over coloured, _(Hows the lush bright green) PS video looks about right.

Never played HGL (Alpha) so cant compare it to PS. I dont find it clunky. It runs smooth. Its not without its issues tho (PS), there's still a couple of holes in the map they have to fix for starters. Neither am I keen on the stability Brit Sten vs soldier stamina levels nor the alleged "grass off" issue some mention which I "think" was fixed (shudder).

Remembering HGL is still in Alpha (and I suspect yet a ways from reality), PS is out, playable with large server numbers and has an Armoured expansion on the way with regular small fixes already under its belt..

I watched the HGL videos as available. I do like the night scenes on the bridge and there's some graphics in there that are better than PS, tho I don't think its a PS beater just yet. PS equally has some excellent trench graphics including under ground passages. It will be interesting to see them compete in the future. It would seem however that PS has the logistics behind it that HGL so far seems to lack. Time will tell. I see nothing to make me jump ship just yet.

So I wasnt just being a negative nancy, I went to their website to look at the latest vid.

Cinematic mode is available in PS also. You want a good card to see it. Its what I play in. Doesnt look at that different to me.

Don't get me wrong..I think PS is a great game, and maybe I don't have my settings just right..but my game looks like the PS in that video. I have a hard time spotting and recognizing enemy at med to long distances. I'll just have to see how HLL progresses. The beta play looks amazing, and vehicles haven't even been added yet. I will still be playing PS.. trying to get it dialed in..but will definitely be paying attention to this one for sure.

"I have a hard time spotting and recognizing enemy at med to long distances."

Seems to be the most common complaint. I know a couple of the TWC Guys have the same issue. For whatever reason, I haven't noticed it. Tho, I unless I am carrying a Springfield, I usually play a class with Bino's and that helps my spotting immensely. Without them, then I am sure I would be cut to pieces a lot more.

HLL, I have been typing for weeks HGL (Hell Get Loose) LOL doesn't even make sense. Hell Let Loose makes far more sense. No doubt HLL will be a good game. Can't hurt to have both in the library

HLL beta will be next weekend if you got it on kickstarter.

Eager to try it myself, it's been ages since the alpha which was VERY fun to play. Hopefully this beta has tanks and trucks to drive as well as a new map.

The game mode with the sector control was a ton of fun.

After watching quite a few videos.. it's apparent, that the pace of the games are a little slower( which I like) compared to other games. Hopefully it stays that way..even with the addition of vehicles and armor. The ability to ride on tanks will be fun. I hope the implemnt hatches and commanders being able to look out. Nothing is more satisfying than picking off some unsuspecting poor commander that spends too much time being vulnerable. It would be nice if the top hatch remained open until another crew member has to close it to avoid a frag being tossed in.

Re: Hell get loose - kickstarter

Another beta for HLL is on this weekend. This one is not just for Kickstarter backers I think, you can pre order the game on steam and play it.

I just only got a chance to play one round - the game feels a lot more polished now and the round I played was quite fun! I was playing my favourite kit (medic) and managed to get 19 revives by the end which was awesome. Even killed 5 germans in a row at one point with the pistol, Muahahahaha!

Artillery guns can be used from the main base, and they are quite devastating! If you get blown up by one you can be dismembered and can't be revived - the bodies look pretty gross and realistic sometimes with their legs and arms being blown off. Tanks are really loud and scary - advancing alongside a Sherman the engine was so loud I couldn't hear my squad!

The game feels really good and I would reccomend it to the guys who like slow paced large scale FPS games. Of course it's not perfect but it is pretty good.

Yeah it was released on June 6. The game mode is still the more focused one flag per team at a time which I think is too bad compared to the original territory control game mode but it is a really immersive game and I've had some good fun in it.
