A real good FFB joy would be really appreciated.
It's strange how the SIM racers got so much FFB stuff while flight simmers don't.

I cant understand that either - would be great if a current / supported FFB JS was available to buy

These guys are working on it. They've got a magnetic force yoke for sale. ($1000-ish)

Hopefully some news on the joystick soon.

    Re: Force Feedback

Will it make my compass whirl and my magnetometer jam? Will the electromagnetic radiation fry me?

On a more serious note, one might be able to circumvent the patents by providing servo clutch/capstan kits for cable runs just like on aircraft. My problem is not the technology though, it's the lack of feedback data. And without memory mapping hax, which I'm not too keen on using, that doesn't look likely to happen any time soon.

Now that you mention it; I may need to rethink this idea of having many large magnets set betwix my legs....

    Re: Force Feedback

Looks like these guys are making progress on magnetic force feedback!

The developer explains that the same stick could be used as a shifter, or a flight stick, or whatever you can think up... It just takes software profiles. Hopefully that multiplies the interest in this thing.

    Nice Sundog. Nerd!

Those coils and connectors are not big enough!

You might no longer be able to go with hall sensors tho, unless they isolate the sensing from flux with some permeable shtuff.

    Re: Force Feedback

    Hi,
I am puzzled by this Built for fun DYT stuff: http://bffsimulation.com/BFF-FFB-System.php
But constructing this FF-system is not a low cost budget, £ 500,- for all pieces needed by estimation. On the other hand, rudder pedals would be animated too.
And I guess that the forces produced by Bff-system would be much more effective than the Saitek FF stick which I used before or other products. Further I would expect that the precision of my TM16000 wouldn't suffer. Don't know yet if the system works with Clod. Anybody who can tell?
