    When P/O James E "N....r" Marshall of No 85 Squadron RAF returned to RAF Debden on 18 August 1940, he was challenged by S/L Peter W Townsend for taking off without orders. Marshall admitted that he could not resist following in Hurricane Mk I VY-D (P3649), nor could he resist ramming a He 111(prop 7./KG53) when out of ammunition, The enemy aircraft was assessed as probably destroyed and the sortie was subsequently legitimised by entering him as Yellow Two in the ORB.

    The first one is me and I made it with 4./JG26 from ACG in mind. The next one isn't me at all although it has my number. I snapped it from a movie. The colour was turned up very very rich so I turned it down and I thought it looked nice. Too good not to share.

    Ya I see the confusion there. I'm always red 16 but the first pic is a quick mission so I couldn't be red 16. The second isn't me but it has the right colour and number for me...Funny

    As far as I know the difference in the shape of the prop spinner relates to whether the aircraft was fitted with the DH or Rotol propeller.

    You have to Love CLOD's damage modeling visually. Best in the business. They still delivered their bomb load, but I am not sure if they made the pull out yet. I will have to watch the recording further and see if they made it.

    interested to know, if you were to refly the mission and put a flying helmet on Balthasar, would the picture update or is it photoshop made and not linked as such ?


    Also what skin are you using for the Me110 in spitfire EB.R photo ?

    The rlm70/71 is along the lines of the real colours I have been trying to recreate so I need to go fly that skin and examine it.
