    Suggestions for those having Blitz Crash problems

    Hello All

    Some suggestions for those having crash problems:

    1)

    TF recommends those people having a problem with crashes turn off their Steam Overlay.

    You can still take screenshots with your 'Print Scrn' button.

    2)

    Crash errors and other errors are stored in the windows events database. You can look at them through the event viewer.

    How to open:

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/...(v=ws.11).aspx

    Once open, select "application" on the left and look for errors on the right. Something like this:

    https://theairtacticalassaultgroup.c...8&d=1513289421

    The error shown below will have the information we need for diagnosis.

    For initial diagnostics it is best to post the full crash error you see come up.

    Some of these errors are easily linkable to a cause.

    For example in the error you might see the following:

    The "BadImageFormatException" is because something is running at 32 bits (either windows or an overlay running in the background).

    The "PermissionDeniedException" is due to not having permissions to read or write some file. Most likely due to not running the game as an Admin, or previously having created the Documents folder as an Admin and not doing it for the 4.5 install.

    3)

    We recommend those who are having problems to enable the logfile.

    This is done in the conf.ini file in your Documents/1C SoftClub/il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover/ folder.

    [Console]

    IP=20001
    UseStartLog=1
    WRAP=1
    PAUSE=1
    HISTORY=1024
    HISTORYCMD=1024
    PAGE=20
    LOG=1
    LOGTIME=1
    LOAD=console.cmd
    SAVE=console.cmd
    LOGFILE=log.txt
    LOGKEEP=1

    This keeps a record of the game operation in a file called: log.txt

    When you have a problem, open the log file, look at what is there and post it in the technical assistance forum.

    Did the game start before you updated windows?

    Yes this COULD be a common denominator!
    People are running unupdated versions of windows...

    Hi Kling!

    What do you mean bu "unupdated versions of Windows? Can you clarify?

    a) Windows not updated with all critical, recommended etc, patches?
    b) Or upgrading from 32 to 64 bits Windows?

    If a) which Windows security patch or requiered for CloD Blitz to work?
    If b) this only depends on your CPU. 32-bits CPUs cannot run under Windows 64 bits versions.

    Kind regards

    If you are still using a Pentium 4, I doubt you can run the game anyway. Almost any processor newer than that supports 64 bits.

    OK now I understand, thanks for clarifying, then it is a matter of upgrading from Windows 32 to 64 bits, keeping hardware (that supposedly will already support 64 bits). Anyhow, you have to spend money to do so.

    Unfortunately to keep up with technology you have to spend more money, nothing for money and your chicks for free. Or should I say you updated are free, but technology isn’t.

    so need help.

    ok, newbie, atag lewis set me up and helped heaps, problem i was having is the joystick would not remember settings, so everytime i would need to re programme stick.

    then the game wouldnt launch. steam overlay unticked, latest drivers on nvidea, win10 updated, after reboot, i decided to uninstall and download and reinstall, exactly same, im a car sim player, thought id try planes, but to be honest, im nearly done, 2 days wasted,so far, and dont know what else to do.

    very frustrating, 2 days wasted for me is valuable, I have terminal cancer with last april given a 3 month prognosis, its been 8 months, and im still here, and still good, but , thats why 2 days are valuable for me.

    im probably just going to uninstall and forget it, shame because 10 this morning i was loving it.

    weird world of pc.

    Yes it did.

    Edit 24/12/17

    After hours and hours, I discovered slowly that my failure to launch game was created by the pc having my race car controllers, wheel and pedal, attached at the same time as stick.

    I removed ALL phericals in USB, and she boots up no problem, I then added ONLY the stick USB, and no problem, it evens seems to save info on mapping.

    Woohoo. Hope it helps some. Of course all pc are different. But I may help someone, from this newbie.

    Now let's fly and learn. Merry Xmas.

    !
    I have seen that before on my machine, and for me it was related to the actual GForce experience software itself, not any game, for some reason.
    I did the whole driver uninstall thing, but then only installed the driver back(excluding Gforce experience) and that went away.
    Subsequently have the GForce software back and havent seen it again.

    Hi High,

    The crash log indicates an issue while rendering. If could be something like your video driver restarting in the middle of the game.
    If you are having computer crashes, you have some other issue. You can browse the event viewer for other errors. Hopefully you will find one related to the crash reason.

    Weird...

    just uninstalled and reinstalled drivers...

    also went to bios and loaded optimized defaults just to be on the safe side. It changed a few things that I'm promptly forgot about... erm...

    Brand new rig so if it keeps playing up its gonna be going back to its birthplace and they can sort it out.

    EDIT:

    loading optimized defaults seems to have fixed it all.

    no dodgey event logs since I did that.... not that i have done sa lot with the PC since... but so far it all looks very happy.

    How to open:

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/...(v=ws.11).aspx

    Once open, select "application" on the left and look for errors on the right. Something like this:

    https://theairtacticalassaultgroup.c...8&d=1513289421

    The error shown below will have the information we need for diagnosis.
    This information was extreamly useful.

    Cheers Buzz. I didnt even know that was there.

    In Windows 10 you can access it directly with a right click over the start button.. third from top.

Merry Xmas.
    Cheers have been having problems too with my MSFFB 2 and ending up flying with the arrow keys.
    Thank you for the suggestion will start removing many leads, best wishes Steven.
