The skins work well in TF4.5, and I think the colours actually look better than in the previous versions of the game.
[Note: I tmporarily disabled my Ju-87 Mega Pack as the skin colours need re-working, as they are much too light in TF 4.5]
He 111P from KG55, Based near Paris 1940 during the battle of Britain. Some of the markings had
been overpainted in black. Later even more extensive overpainting would take place on this
aircraft.
The tail marking is from 8.KG/76. The artwork is a 'bomb tally' showing a row of bombs:
He 111 P ' Old Fritz',
He 111 P-2, 1G-BB Stab I./KG 27 flown by Paul Hollinde, Gablingen, late autumn-winter 1939/40.
The aircraft artwork portrays Frederick the Great, or Der Alte Fritz (Old Fritz),
and is a reference to group commander Oberstlt. Fritz Graumnitz of I./KG 27 who ordered the
artwork painted on 1G-BB when the aircraft was based at Hannover-Langerhagen.
It was later flown by Paul Hollinde at Gablingen near Augsberg:
He 111 P-2 5J+CN (Wk.Nr. 1526) Crashed in the Norwegian mountains on 26th April 1940 after being attacked by
Skuas from the Ark Royal.
The aircraft has been recovered and now sits in a museum in Norway:
He 111 'Neville Chamberlain'.
He 111 P-2 G1+JL, W.Nr 2149, 3./KG 55, France, summer 1940.
The artwork on the tail and fuselage are reported as representing Neville Chamberlain
(British Prime Minister 1937-40). The aircraft was lost in July 1941 while serving on the Eastern Front:
