MS SFFB 2 - Can't enter the sim when connected

    Hi,

I've done a fresh install of Cliffs of Dover Blitz and I can get to the main menu without issue. However, when I try to enter a quick mission the loading bar gets stuck just before 100% and I have to use task manager to close the application. If I unplug my joystick, it works fine. The joystick inputs are recognised on the controller options page and there are no problems with other games.

I've already tried verifying game files and also deleting my 1C SoftClub folder.

    Any other suggestions?

A number of people here use that Sidewinder stick so I am sure they will be along to help shortly.

In the interim is it plugged into a usb slot on your mobo, or into a usb hub, if hub try directly to the pc.

Hi I use the MS SWFFB2 with clod. In 4.5 (s with previous versions of clod) for whatever reason (for me) I have to have the stick plugged into a particular USB port on my PC - For me that happens to be a USB 3 port (i dont know if that in itself is important). If i plug it in anywhere else i just get issues.

So you might need to do a bit of trial and error testing with different USB ports to find the one(s) that are going to work for your set up.

Good luck with the fix - its a great stick in clod

    S!

Thanks, it crashes much less when I use a different port.

I don't know if this is the case with you but I have both Blitz and "non-Blitz" installed. I can't go from one game to the other without rebooting. My symptoms are slightly different but thought worth calling out. If I go from one to the other (doesn't matter which one is first and which one is second) my sidewinder doesn't respond at all in the 2nd game. Everything loads but it just doesn't work.

    Hi martinistripes..

I use the MSSWII as well...No issues here...but every system is different...Have you tried booting the PC with the stick in different USBs...Sometimes the system need to recognise it and configure it on boot up...I hear some systems are fussy about it...Hopefully you get it sorted as it seems a drag...

Hopefully more input here from the techy guys in this forum will help...

    Anyway...

Before I make my world famous welcome post to you (below)...I'd just like to ask that if you like CLOD and BLITZ then its a good idea to leave a positive review (in any language) in the STEAM forum...That way we will get to see more of what the TFS have to offer in the future...It helps keep THE DREAM ALIVE!...

Welcome to the Community and Forums martinistripes...~S~

Checkout the 'Beginners Guide'...for info and tips...It will save you a heap of time in getting up to scratch.....and its a really fun learning curve too...

Also try youtube for startup procedures on all the aircraft...

I recommend getting in the online server as soon as you can take off if that's ultimately where you'd like to fly...I flew single player for 30 minutes before I took the plunge...The ATAG online server is a great environment to learn and there's not really any damage you can do in there as a new player.....It is also mission based just with real players trying to foil your objectives...If you are concerned then pick an airstrip furthest from the front line (there always is one or two on every map) and get some alt before you go hunting...You'll get tagged a lot but there are tricks you learn out of pure desperation in those first few weeks that you'll be able to use later...I know cos I still use the same tricks I learned then too because they work...and never underestimate the stall to get you out of a tight fix...That sometimes works too...

TeamSpeak is optional but you'll learn a whole lot faster with it even if you say very little once you are on the server...You are quite welcome to just listen if you feel more comfortable with that....so you don't actually need a mic either...Try it and see!
