I hate Windows 10.

The drive with my CloD on was filling up with stuff the kids are doing so put in another drive I had knocking around and thought I'd install windows 10. Install went as well as could be expected apart from no DVD drive or sound. Managed to get drive to appear after a load of messing around but sound was completely defeating me.

Finally sussed it by discovering that what Microsoft actually mean by speakers and headphones is that anything plugged into the rear of the computer is a speaker and anything coming from the on board connections i.e. to a front panel are headphones regardless of what may actually be plugged in or what may be showing in any dialogue box. I had headphones plugged into back which showed as default and the levels status bar worked when testing but no sound. I had to set speakers to default and bingo. Nothing about this either in the squillions of guides that appear on Google or at least nothing obvious to me. Almost lost the will to live .

All ok now and Blitz installed and brilliant.
