How come you do flying legends rather than BoB day? I went to BoB last year and loved it, so would probably look to go to something again this year. Are there VIP tickets where you get lunch and seats etc?

OK I'll check I'm around, hopefully should be and will post on here if I'm coming. Duxford is only 35 minutes away for me so probably wouldn't camp but see how it goes, if all of you are I might do as be good to meet you all!

    Love it

Anyway, this Duxford idea have had a deeep impact on my wallet. Does anyone know if the camping ground take a 8 meter long RV I just bought for the purpose?

I am not kidding, story of my life, I asked my wife how she felt about a RV trip to UK countryside with a weekend stop in Duxford, and she fell for the Idea, when the cost for rent came up, we decided to buy instead. Flying 2000 KM to look at my new purchase next weekend. So you see, this is probably the most expencive trip ever made to Duxford

Well first step of the plan is now over The camper is bought. Now my daughter and wife talks about Italy and Germany, well that is all fine, but I see no Duxford in that route, still work to be done here

Next step on the road to Duxford is to manipulate my employer that I am totally useless in about 4 to 5 weeks. Plan is to have last 1 and a half week for Duxford and Cambridge area and the trip home. Being useless should be a walk in the park methinks. Plan B is getting a new job and time the resignation and start of new job . I start to see Duxford in my future

BTW , it was a real charming piece of equippment, veteran from 1971

This started it life as a Truck for a carpenter, then it was stripped down and given a modern engine , transmission and axels , then buildt up to what it is today. Only 2 owners since 1971, and both thrown money at it like drunk sailors.
Renting a van for the period for 5 people actually cost more than half of this one bought

Well I bought the camper to use there, but my wife was altered in vacation time by her bosses, due to sick leaves. So we have to go somewhere else , chaotic healthcare make things a bit difficult, had to alter my vacation also to fit hers. But there you go, stil got the camper

In cockpit view of the Miss Velma crash at Duxford in 2017

Not sure if any of you have seen this yet but this is the incredible in cockpit footage of the air crash at Duxford last-year involvong the P-51 "Miss Velma" flown by British warbird pilot, Mark Levy.

The footage begins with the aircraft in formation and then shows Mark bring it in for an emergency landing in a corn field. Really impressive to watch.

Wow that is crazy footage. At first I thought he nosedit over..but it was just the corn stalks. So glad it turned out ok..but it looked like substantial damage to the aircraft. Hopefully it will be brought back to life, and see the skies again.
    Cheers
