    Oooo, bikes.

    Re: Show Us Your Bike(s)

I don't have photos of my first two... but these are images i grabbed from the inertweb in the right colours.

    Nostalgia hit !!

MBX.jpg 50cc or raw power... at 16 i was a GOD !! who was frequently overtaken going uphill on my way home from school by the old lady on her C90. She didnt even have a propper jacket or any Ramones patches.

next up was a grey import i got from BAT Motorcyles.

    Honda VF400F.jpg

a strange bike.... it had a rev limiter which would basically cut the power normally mid overtake with a car coming head on. Such fun. was astep of from a moped though... and i loved it depsite it being pretty awful.

other brief candidates were a borrowed TZR125, an RGV250 that I had on loan for about a month... man that was fun !!... an RD350 that I blew up twice...

borrowed an FZR 750 which was pretty good as it goes...

Then I got a ZX-9R which my brother sold me. The original B model. It was MAD... it was fast as hell, and had a terrible front end that was hell bent on high-siding you.

Hugely exciting, often scarey... it really was a beast. Classic Kawasaki really... "get a massive engine and put it in... I dunno... anything... pipe cleaners instead of forks?... yeah... that will do". My my isn't it fast kids !

    I loved it !

I crashed it too and lived to tell the tale. Rebuilt it and rode it for another 3 years or so before some toe-rag stole it in the night. No more heart attack inducing high-side gambling for me !

    here she is:

    Elaine.jpg

I then heard about a ZX-7R with 3,000 miles on it going for 3 grand. I didnt really want it being a pretty big step down in power but took it for a test ride anyway...

It felt underpowered (compared to the 9R !!) on the straights... and then I found some tiwsty roads and totally fell in love. Just WOW !

Planted. No scares from the front end... just brilliant really.

I've had the 7R ever since. Changed the gearing to trade a bit of top speed for a bit of GET OFF THE LIGHTS ! Mostly standard other than that.

this a a few years back now ! I've cut my hair since then.

    7r.jpg

I did think about a Triumph 675 Daytona for a bit.... it's the only bike that has really made me sit up and look... but i cangt really afford one and I'm still dippy about the 7R.

this is me at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last summer playing by the rules.

    looks like I set a trend !

lol Yeah I lived in a basement suites, so had to use a ramp down the stairs with some friend.

I did the paint on the black 08, but didn't get it finished before I had to sell it.

    Re: Show Us Your Bike(s)

I have never ever had interest for bikes one way or the other. Always believed I would own a plane though. Now when I can afford it, I simply bother no more. Why should I fly in circles in a cessna ? Everything going forward with wheels is for me getting from A to B. This is why I go only to the first shop and buy a vehicle not bothering too much on other things than how many seats I need. So I got a Fiat Scudo and a Mercedes E 200 , and soon a camper.

I had a go on a 70's Triumph...Really quick from a standing start...I was quite surprised...I told him if he ever sold it give me first shout...and then he sold it...

    Re: Show Us Your Bike(s)

    S!~

Got crazed after saving for 25 years for bikes. Dad raced as an amateur - drag racing - in the 70's for a few years . Me mother sold his 30+ trophies after their divorce - garage sale- for schillings - lol . So- I thought it best to start there.

    1) 1976 Honda CB550F- silver paint is not stock- nor the 4into 2 pipes- but she roars- and can hit 115 mph with my 210lb arse hanging on - great bike.

    2) 1976 Honda GL1000 Goldwing - naked - Linex bedlinered all painted parts- buffed out all chrome- bone stock- shaft drive. Great bike- can hang in the turns and most straight runs with my cronies $30k Harleys. Dripping with bad-ass coolness- with a touch of geek. Lovely. Has a radiator which is great when its 90 F' .

    3) 1977 Honda CB750F w. Vetter Windjammer III original fairing. Barn find - wrenched it for half a day- ripped out to over 110 mph- fairing gets a bit shaky after that. Again 4-2 pipes - super-cool 70's retro look- and rumbles in and out of where-ever you want to go. Easy rider - reliable like a 40 yr old Honda. Gotta love it. Café racer Schott leather- tough ass jeans- older boots- life is good when on her. Like an old horse that can still go to battle.

    4) 1978 Honda CB750F. 90% original- built to run new by some local introverts. They only sell their bikes to dudes w/o Harleys-lol. I'm sure IM off the list when I finally get one. Anyhow- chopped rear fender- little better bars -new everything- polished and ready to tear around. I'm going to switch out the seat for a brat seat- little semi- café bars- and a Mad Max bad guys bike fairing. We'll see what she'll do this summer and Ill report. I'm thinking Ill hit 120+ on that old bird. Havent ridin' it as yet- soon- spring. Re-painted jet black- look cool and un-pretentious.

5 ) 1979 BMW R100RT . Barn find. Cat sh#t on her- rats nest in the airbox-really- tossed tires- you name it. But- it was all there. Took it to a 'retired' BMW national salesman who lives and breathes "airheads". Re-built most of the mechanical - I have been riding it for the past 2 years and loving it. Hard bags - 6.5 gal. tank- got her up to 110 mph- again- fairing shake. Need to tear it down and build a Linex sprayed bike- cafe' on mild steroids- lighten it up and get into the corners. Everywhere we ride- its the bike. Just too cool. Ferrari red paint is not stock. Np- looks fast-hehe.

Ps: I get my pix off my old comp. and post. None on this new one. Coming soon!

    S~! AKA_Blasto

LOL! I'm the worst pix poster ever! Ill get better ones. 77' hondda with the 79' red BMW behind- and the 78' 750 Honda black- and my Kraut arse flying with a buddy.

Never took great pics of my bikes, but mine were:
    1. 80 somethin' Kawasaki 175...jumped that 2 stroke to death! Nailed a 35 foot step-up on it.
    2. 2000-ish RM125...Superman'd it back when Pastrana was stomping indie supermans.
    3. 2 80's Vintage Yamaha 100's that I bought instead of a car in Botswana (wife had car). Had a gorgeous 10 mile commute through the bush.
    4. Sherco Trials 2.9...Completed my first competition a few years ago. Having a blast with it....much easier on my bones.

    All sweet bikes!!
A note on this group of bikes
    My Pictures.jpg
1975 Mk8 360 cc Bultaco Fronteras (x2) , 1978 Bultaco Frontera MK 11 1 x 250 and 1 x 370, 1999 Gas Gas EC 300, 2004 Gas Gas 300EC. I always loved the Bultaco Fronteras but never had them as a kid, I always had the MX bikes "Pursangs". When I hit mid-life crisis many years later I decided to get a modern bike and tried out the Gas Gas and fell in Love... it was the ultimate woods weapon that felt like you were wearing it instead of riding it.
As luck would have it I had to travel to Girona Spain and asked the US distributor if he could set up a factory visit for me. I sent him that picture. I didn't know it at the time but I later found out that the owner of Gas Gas (Narcis Casas) was the lead designer and inspiration for the world's first Endurocross bike (mx bike with lights) the Bultaco Frontera until they went belly up. Needless to say I got the red carpet rolled out for me and we sat and chatted Bultaco history for over two hours.

No as you saw not the silver samurai killer but the bulbous plastic thing of the 90’s. Not a bad bike but I should have kept the Sabre much better bike all round in my opinion even as old as she was.
