I would like to share with you something very very special happened to me

Hello fellows!


I would like to share with you something very very special ( at least for me ) that happened some nights ago.


As you probably know, I'm a big and enthusiast fun of Werner " Vati " Mölders...


Said this, I was, as often I do, on Facebook and at a certain point I'm been contacted by Herr Ed Schwall that saw one of my topics submitted on one of the groups of which I'm part of on it.


Herr Ed Schwall, born on 19 March 1948, is the author of the book " My village in the city: How a family survived the World War Two then Came to America in Search of a Dream ".


We started exchanging private messages among us via the Facebook Messenger and after a bit he told me " I have a special gift for you...something you may like about Werner " Vati " Mölders "...


Do not ask me why ( because I still can't believe it ) he provided me the incredible chance to share, in exclusive, some unknown facts and images about him, his father's life ( that served in the Luftwaffe during the World War Two ) and also about, my Luftwaffe preferred pilot, Werner " Vati " Mölders.


I have published on my forum an article about this fully unexpected Facebook encounter that I would like too share with you all, because I think that this is something really special and that certainly doesn't happen every day.


In it you will find never published before images about Werner " Vati " Mölders ( and not only! ) and some very peculiar stories about a soldier, the author's father, that served in the Luftwaffe during the World War Two...An incredible story about those times, recounted by one who lived that facts in first person.

Not at all!

At least for me has been so special that I've thought that it could have been of interest also for other persons.

Yesterday night I was again chatting with him and he told me that he wanted to share his story with me and as much as possible because sometimes he has the feeling that the nation that sent them to war would rather forget their sacrifice.
He said " I'm glad there are still people like yourself who are keeping their memory alive " I've replied " Well, I know lot of persons that have still the will and the passion to remember them and that are still interested in these kind of stories "

That's why I've shared the article with you.

TFS keeps the dream alive, we must keep the memory alive! ( or at least this is what I like to think )

I think that another " advantage " that these war stories have is the fact that they contribute to keep alive our passion for the WW2 era aviation and, doing so, they " push indirectly " us also toward the PC games that we love so much or rather the WW2 flight simulators.

Do you think it in the same way as me? What are your thoughts about this aspect?

Very very cool, once in a lifetime connection you have made. Getting these kind of stories and infos straight from the source is a rare and exciting experience. Just out of curiosity (not cause I'm trying to pick your article apart) the picture of the soviet planes, are those Mig-3s and not yaks? or is my identification off as usual?

I have to check because I'm not a big expert about Ivan planes. I wrote what the author stated...will have a look about them

You were correct! They are Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-3 fighter planes, many thanks to have pointed this out!
