Those having Crash problems: We'd like to see what programs you are running

The information we are receiving suggests there is a common thread in the Crash reports and likely a common program which is causing the problems.

In order for us to identify that program or programs, we need to see what you are running in your PC.

To get a list of programs running, please follow these instructions:

    - Start->run
    - type "cmd" and click "OK"
    - on the black window that opens, type "tasklist /svc" and press enter
    - right click on the window title and select Edit->Mark
    - Scroll up to the begining of the output, left click at the start and drag to the end selecting all the text.
    - once the text is selected, press enter (this was a copy/paste operation)
    - now you can paste the text here so we can see what is running and hopefully figure it out.

And also, see if you have any files on the "My Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\cppcrash" folder. If so, please zip them and attach them to any post here.

    Thanks

Re: Those having Crash problems: We'd like to see what programs you are running

Hi Buzzsaw, Thank you for your assistance.

In my case, this is the fault that shows on each error on the Event Viewer: Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll

I have uninstalled Blitz and have deleted the 1C folder so no cppcrash files that I could attach. And here are the programs that are running:

Pls try this. Unplug all gaming devices from the their USB plugs (joystick, rudder, thottle), install the game and start it without plugging in your devices and see if it starts!

    Kling! You Da Man!
It worked. I uninstalled the game and deleted the folder in 1C. Unplugged all gaming controllers (I have all of them on a powered USB hub) then reinstalled the game. As per your instruction, I fired up the game with the controllers still uplugged and it worked!
I read somewhere that Logitech controllers seem to contribute to the issue so I left the Logitech G27 wheel unplugged. I then plugged the other controllers back in ( CH Product stick, throttle pro, throttle quadrant, Saitek rudder pedal) and it’s still, fingers crossed, working!
For what it’s worth, I installed in the C drive instead of either of the two game drives where I normally put my games in. I don’t know if that made any difference at all.
Thank you very much for the help, Sir.

We are slowly finding a common denominator... Now we just need to figure out WHY it is doing it..

Thanks again. I just hope that they'll find a solution soon. Seems pretty inconvenient to plug in/out the wheel each time it feels like firing up the driving sim.

MOMO Plugged in. It will not start. MOMO unplugged. No problem. I did it 4 times. I use the MOMO as my rudder pedals. I know it is hacky but it works.

    Hello everybody!
For information (maybe someone will have similar problems)
    My system is Windows 7.
    I-5 3570, overclocked.
    RAM - 16 GB.
    video - GTX 770.
Everything worked like a clock, at the highest levels.
After the installation of Blitz, I suffered a whole evening and this morning - the game then started, then no! I tried a lot, it did not help.
The solution turned out to be simple - in the section personalization put the scheme - Windows simplified. And that's it! the game works.
Earlier, the computer wrote a message about the change from the Aero to the simplistic - and probably, sometimes some error occurred

No joy, I gave it a shot. I did notice the mouse went from Aero to standard. For me it is my Logitech MOMO. I am almost sure of it.

My game was working fine. But today when i try and run it i just end up with the fancy new logo screen (il2*sturmovik Cliffs of dover Blitz logo) sat on my screen.

I havnt changed anything on my system since yesterday so a bit puzzling. ive copy pasted below as per Buzz's instruction

Re: Those having Crash problems: We'd like to see what programs you are running

    Hello,
I think someone mentioned something similar, but when I try to launch it get a windows 7 message:
    J.M.J. Blitz.png

Before I just renamed the files in game folder, but now I will just delete all and try to reinstall.

In order for us to identify that program or programs, we need to see what you are running in your PC.

To get a list of programs running, please follow these instructions:

    - Start->run

    Thanks
Here are my running tasks at the time of crash. No cppcrash folder in 1C SoftClub.

    C:\Users\My-Samsung>tasklist /svc

Yes we have confirmed those who are using a Logitech steering wheel will have crashes... other steering wheels can also cause this problem.

Even if you are not using it in game, simply having it connected can cause the crash problem.

Im having crash problems. I dont have a steering wheel connected when playing clod - but of course the associated software is always installed (Thrustmaster in my case) is it possible that could be an issue in itself?

On the rare occasion i can get the game to start i then experience issues with controls not working. they work at first then (some) stop working - doesnt matter which input device i try to use (inc keyboard). oddly some controls seem to continue to work but others dont - even on the same input device. the same is true for the in cockpit controls - if i click the mouse on the fire guns button it works ok, but i cannot move the throttle, rad, prop pitch, the flaps up/down doesnt work nor do the raf gunsight adjustments

im a bit stuck as its essentially non playable for me at present

Have you got anthromopromophic (or whatever!) Controls ensbled in the options? If so switch that sucker off!

It stops your fake left hand or fake right hand from doing more than one thing at a time... ... Which isnt very helpful as your keyboard etc probably isnt set up in the same configuration and layout as real cockpit....

Does the steering wheel software start running when you start your PC?

If it does, change that so you have to manually start the software.

Do you use a Thrustmaster joystick as well? I.e. so does the same software work with both the joystick and steering wheel? In that case, you may need to create two versions of the software, one without joystick. Or alternately don't use the Thrustmaster software, only program the stick with the game's software.

I'm guessing you are playing single player. If so, make sure you switch off "anthropomorphic controls" on the difficulty settings.
That setting is there to simulate you having only 2 hands so it effectively disables some controls while you are moving others.

could that maybe removed from the game completely? I never heard of anybody who really wanted that / used that...

No i don t think the TM software is running until/unless i plug in the wheel - its not the same software that is associated with a thrustmaster stick or MFD panel. So far i have not used the TM TARGET software (I have an MFD panel plugged in) so thats not running.

i seem to get less crashes if i change my personalisation to windows basic. i still get them but it appears less frequent. I maanged to get it going a while ago and I just logged into server 2 and everything seemed to work fine for the 25 minutes i was on the server - no control issues at all, it was all perfect - so it seems that its something to do with single player mode. i checked i have anthropomorphic controls unticked, so it shouldnt be that. i dont use single player other than for setting stuff up (like controls ironically..) so if i can play ok online then ill be happy enough. will see how it goes and report back in case it helps others.

    pretty game btw

OK now I can see what is happening regarding my controls problems. Each time i re start the game , the realism settings are being re set to default & have anthropomorphic controls 'ticked'. I untick it - all is good, i exit the game , re start and anthropomorphic controls is one again ticked.....

Is there somethng im doing wrong when making a change to the realism settings or should i file something in the bug tracker for this?

    Smells like permisisons problems.
Things like starting the game as admin once and then running it as normal user, can make the files and folders "read only" for the normal user.

Check that you can write the ini files with the same user you are running the game.

OK so you mean make a change to my controls or something like that and see if it saves it??? If it doesnt, ie if it is a permissions problem - whats the solution - always run as admin???

    Thanks

I have found a solution to my Blitz crash problem.
I have discovered that MSI Afterburner, a gpu overclocking tool, causes the game to crash if Afterburner is running before I launch Blitz.
Launch Blitz, then MSI Afterburner, problem solved

Any overlay program can cause issues with Blitz.

Re: Those having Crash problems: We'd like to see what programs you are running

Bighog got his to run ok. His problem was his anti-virus (AVG) was deleting some of the files on install. Therefore, when he tried to run the game the launcher would crash. Looks to be more than one issue causing the launcher crash. To fix, he removed all, disabled AVG and re-installed the game. Then it installed ok.

    Good luck.
