Launcher stopped working. (after lastest patch download)

Hi,
Fired up Blitz this A.M. auto updated itself.
Now the launcher stops working a couple of seconds after double clicking the desktop icon?
Everything was fine before.
I'm grounded! Only recently got myself up and running again.
Any help or advise greatly appreciated.

Initially, after reading the launcher crash reports upon v4.5 release, I thought I was a lucky guy when everything worked with no crashes. I've been playing Blitz since its release until this morning when I clicked the desktop icon to launch and Steam got involved. It told me it was downloading Blitz and asked for an email address confirmation. After completing the download and confirming my email address, I attempted to launch and immediately got the dreaded "launcher has stopped working". I checked the Blitz file properties and was puzzled when it said I had 343 bad files which would be automatically corrected. Another launch attempt produced the same crash, so I re-verified the file integrity again and it reported all was well...only it crashed again. I tried deleting the Blitz file in 1c Soft Club (after backing up my confuser, user, a couple of mission files and such) hoping a newly generated file would fix the problem. No such luck. At this point, all I can do is keep checking this forum to see if a fix can be found. I see that my experience is not unique this morning.

Just checked the Blitz forums at Steam and see that a patch was apparently released to, among other things, make some features workable and improvements to various aspects. A growing number of posts suggests this is the related to the new round launcher crashes.

I had the same problem, my OS is Windows 7 x64. And I solved this problem by installing the latest .NET 4.7.1

Having the same launcher crashes at start up, maybe 3 out of every 4 tries (however it will randomly launch without issue). Also getting crashes in multiplayer after joining the server (at the client briefing screen). And my old problem of launcher crashes if I go to the plane setup screen continues. I've managed to fly offline a couple of times and the visuals seem noticeably better with the update.

I updated Net framework which didn't seem to help...not sure what else to do. Maybe remove and reinstall the whole damn CLoD program (with my shitty Verizon DSL speeds)? Any advice appreciated.

Big kudos to Rostic for the 4.5.3 launcher fix with .NET 4.7.1. It's loading now. I had backed-up my campaigns (Seelowe) and a couple of FMBs I fiddled around with, now if I can just get them working I'll be good-to-go. Thanks to the community. I knew I could count on you.

Btw, anyone else find outside views (F2) no longer seem to work? I made sure the Realism settings for "no outside views" was unchecked. Also, the Stuka dive sirens persist after they have returned to normal flight. I downed one in the Channel and the water impact was a pulsating white splash. Everything runs smoothly and screen colors look great to me.

Resolved the external view thing. Seems something laid on my keyboard pressed and deactivated the Function key mode.
