Grey box

For some reason ive got a grey box showing up in the top left hand corner of the screen. I can summon up the map and close it but the greyed out box just stays there what ever i try...god knows how it appeared but its annoying as it takes up a fair amount of screen...any ideas

Put mouse cursor on it then
Left Alt + left Mouse button to highlight it.
Then right click on it and choose "close info window"

First thing i tried was clicking on the box and selecting delete but it didnt work...ill read through the info above and see if i can change a setting that will cure it.

Did you try this from my post above?

and don't forget folks who have this usually have many of them on top of each other...so many that when deleting them it doesn't visibly look like they are deleting...You may have to delete many on top of one another before you realise it is working depending on how many you got there...
