    Skinning a prop spinner question

Just trying my hand at creating a skin or two, and I've hit a problem which I was wondering if any expert skinners could help me with please.

I've given my Hurricane skin a red spinner, which shows up red as it should when the engine is stopped, but turns black as soon as the engine is started. Anyone know how to solve this?

(I'm guessing that maybe there is a separate part of the skin which is just for the rotating spinner, as opposed to the stationary spinner, and I need to change this to be red also, but if so I can't see where it might be on the template).

    Many thanks!

    This

First location is the Spinner, second one is where the 3d model of the moving spinner unwraps to.

I made a wider spinner (thin spiral) and it works perfectly in external view mode. Black spiral on white prop. Dont think I applied any science to it, just worked. Perhaps its a colour issue? foreground vs background colour in motion?

Many thanks for responses everyone, especially Spiritus Mortem - looks like that's my problem, thought it might be something like that!
