Attempt to launch Cliffs first so you don't have to scroll down through other stuff when finding the log. Win+R opens the Run window; type 'eventvwr' into the box and hit enter. Select Windows logs in the left hand list that appears in the window and then Application. In the list that shows up in the centre of the window there will be a few error events - find the ones associated with Launcher64.exe and paste the logs here for the technically inclined (boffins) to have a look at.

    Just clutching at straws here.
U updated Dot Net but did u try a re-install of Visual C (64bit). The 2015 version comes with the game so not sure whether it's the 2015 or 2017 version needed. The 2015 and 2017 versions can be found here:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/...al-c-downloads

Also in Steam make sure u have opted out of Betas in the old 4.32 version of CloD.
If u still have the old version of CloD in Steamapps I would move it or even better uninstall it via Steam.
In Steam-->Settings-->Downloads....Clear the Download cache. Then uninstall Blitz and re-install it.

Win7 finally became such a royal PIA with wanting to install updates that rendered CloD unusable that I upgraded to Win 10 on my gaming PC and it hasn't missed a beat.
Not sure if a Win10 upgrade is an option for u but if it is u will have far less grief.

Hang in there m8, there has to be a solution.
    System specs:
    Gaming laptop: Metabox P750ZM, CPU Intel i7-4790K @ 4GHz, GTX 980m with 8Gb DDR5 VRAM, 16Gb Dual channel DDR3 RAM, 2 x Samsung EVO 840 500Gb SSDs, Win10 Home 64bit.

Gaming PC: MSI PRO Z690 WIFI DDR5 mobo, Intel i5 12600KF cpu, 32Gb Corsair DDR5 5200Mhz RAM, Samsung 980 Pro 1 TB M2 SSD, Corsair 850w psu, MSI RTX 3070 8GB vram vid card, Windows 10 Home 64bit.

Could it be you have a USB Hub connected, and or a Logitech device? Check that thread, might help... (For sure, it does not explain why it worked before the steam update, and not afterwards... but... )

    Good Luck!

    Hi Dave,

ntdll.dll errors could be caused by a multitude of problems but my next move in your position would be an NVidia driver re-install.

    Septic.

Ok this post got me thinking about something else which is that when i use my steering wheel i use a programme called v joy. This was enabled by default. I disabled it and BINGO - clod launches normally - so thank you very much (& thanks to everyone who tried to help)

    S!
