    Suggestion For The Fusion Team

I pulled up some info on the coming 5.0 release and got some old postings about it. They went back to 2015. I'd forgotten that it had been in developement that long.

A 2015 post mentioned that they weren't going to make a 2015 release and it looked as though a late 2016 was more probable. It's 2018, and still no 5.0.

So, how about this? Some good stuff has already been done. We've seen the screenshots. Why waste all that work and have it just sitting there. Use the BOS sales model. Do a pre-order. And start releasing the sim in parts as they are ready. I have to believe that the Spitfire V is done, and we've seen screenshots of the 109F. If the Wellington is flyable and ready, let us have it.

I'd pre-order for sure. Lots of others would, too, I think. Why not consider that? Some money would start flowing in to keep the project going. It works for BOS, don't see why it wouldn't work for CLOD.

never a good idea to suggest releasing stuff to TF. 5.0 will come when its ready ...alot has changed..access to the code, a better realtionship with 1c, etc

It does not work for CLOD because permanent testing, implementing and updating does actually take a lot of recourses, which TFS simply does not have. The overall-progress would be slowed down considerably, I imagine. Ideas like this have been shared and tought about a lot, TFS never made a change, probably for good reasons.

Re: Suggestion For The Fusion Team

One has to remember that these posts in 2015, 2016 were before the deal was made with 1C, and before 4.5 was planned. So 4.5 became the release to come before 5.0 and that added a lot of time I'd imagine but also improved the game faster and released new content before 5.0 could have come out. Which is what many of us wanted anyway. TF is not as big as 1C so we just have to be more patient.

I can understand all of that. It's just that, if I didn't enjoy this sim so much, I wouldn't care how long it took. But it's a favorite. And I cant help feeling that if something isn't released soon, this may wind up relegated to the recycle bin. I'd hate to see that. Too much good work has been done. But as we all know, when projects take too long, interest begins to wane, and one day you hear that it's been cancelled.

As has been mentioned a number of times previously Team Fusion is in an agreement with 1C Games and that agreement does not allow for releases and preorders as you are suggesting.

We will release TF 5.0... it will not be cancelled... and we hope people will purchase and enjoy it.

Re: Suggestion For The Fusion Team

I've been enjoying the ride since I got here.

and it hasn't worn off at all.

Bit absent from the server these past few months as ive got other stuff going on...

    limited time to actually fly.

    anyhow...

    It's a great ride this.

I have no fears about 5.0 being released. And no problem enjoying the things that we currently have.

I'm maybe a bit biased in as much as I live on the map we fly and I really love this part of the UK..

    but...

    Pfffff!

as a famous boxer once said:

Try being an early follower of Black Mesa. It's hilarious over there when someone new comes on the forum every week to ask when it's going to be done.

@Pooch, as Buzz mentioned, we cannot do what you are asking.

Don't fret, 5.0 will be released, and it is much closer to completion then many may think. Those who have left for various reasons will hopefully return once it is released.

Good news. And unlike some, I'm more excited about that Spitfire MkV and the flyable Wellington, than I am about North Africa. I have no doubt that Tunisia will be a blast. But really, they could have stayed on the present map, and simply brought it up to about the middle of 1943 and I would have loved it! Imagine, hopping across the channel in a Typhoon. Or escorting some AI B-17F's over into France in a razorback P-47. Or a quick recon in a Mustang MkI and back to England for tea. With no new map to build we probably would have had that already. Just up to Mid-43. No long range Mustangs into Germany. Just the same map updated to mid -war. I'd never have gotten tired of it.

Re: Suggestion For The Fusion Team

To clarify, Buzzsaw posted this on the ACG website:

"TF could easily launch a crowd-funding drive and raise all kinds of money for future modules. TF should offer pre-sales of aircraft/modules to fund the development of the game."

    - By the terms of the agreement with 1C, TF is prohibited from launching any crowd funding drives. TF is also restricted to a particular Release/Sales structure as laid out in the agreement... all sales are managed by 1C. The agreement does not include a provision for pre-sales or individual aircraft sales. It is quite understandable why 1C has placed these restrictions on TF... under the terms of the agreement we are not responsible for marketing/sales, 1C is... if TF crowdfunded or pre-sold modules to pay ourselves, who would refund the customers should the product ultimately not be completed? 1C is ultimately responsible for any monies advanced by customers on future products. Why would 1C agree to watch TF grab an advance on sales revenues which 1C ultimately will be responsible for, when nothing has been completed and there are no guarantees of a completed product from TF?"

    Wow, thanks for the link!

I can see now why it was actually a lot harder to put out 4.5 knowing that TF only received the older SC while the latest SC from 2011 has been lost.

It's so sad that such a great post and good responses..were once again derailed by one negative post by a so called leader over there. I just don't get it. Look at the 18 responses and then see the second to last one.

Yeah.. it was nice to see their server pop back up for a bit. But man.. I thought I saw something positive there for a minute. It seemed it didn't last long. I believe it was One bad, that had such a great response..and others were in agreement. Hopefully the attitude over there towards at least TFS improves and they see where Buzz and TFS are coming from. We are all in this together.

    Exactly.

It feels like two parents in the midst of a difficult divorce or something. Can't we all just get along for the sake of the children?!?!?

Heck..even for the socially awkward adult that acts like a child sometimes...

The kind of divorce where the child loves both the parentsthe same..but 1 scorned parent bdmouths the other to the kids in hopes of getting back at the other parent. Wow that hits a little too close to home actually.. yikes
