Call me a spoil Sport but I consider they coupled the wrong plane to the car

...especially when the RAF had Mustangs in service

And call me a double spoil sport...

But suggesting it was RAF inspired.. (some green and brown paint ?!)

It's kinda like claiming a Ferrari is Ketchup inspired.

    I prefer the '67.

Now THAT is a car to look at. (No condiments required)

    AMAZING!

Re: RAF Mustang ( the car)

I seem to remember another automobile that used a Spitfire in their commercials in the '60's. I remember one in particular where the car raced the spit.

Re: RAF Mustang ( the car)

It`s about the Spitfire of the No 71 (Eagle) Squadron. The first american volunteer unit in the RAF.

Car, Mustang ,Spitfire, Eagle Squadron, XR-K ...

    For my taste, that's a bit far-fetched.

Funnily enough, Ferrari actually was inspired by warbirds - the logo started out as the coat of arms of the Baracca family, and the most famous member of the family is Francesco Baracca, Italy's top fighter ace of WWI.

Author of the Their Finest Hour, Their Greatest Challenge, Desert Hawks, Eagles over Tobruk, On Ne Passe Pas!, and Rising from the Ashes campaigns for Cliffs of Dover Blitz and Desert Wings - Tobruk.

Call me a...redneck? A Chevy might have done a bit better (Ford vs Chevy debate kick-off) and maybe they wouldn't have gooned it with the carbon fiber interior.

And why would you call your vehicle a Ford, Holden, Mustang, Cobra, Shelby, Turbo, Big Bore Edition?

On a less cynical note, those colours are lovely on any car, even if you were to rattle-can it. Now that Lambo is owned by VW, it would be great to see some new axis variants.

Yeah.... so.... not inspired by ketchup then...

    The defence rests.
