Friends game keeps crashing (Launcher) multiplayer only

Hi

Hopefully someone can assist as I am out of ideas, my mate is running the latest version 4.53 and has no issues in single player, when he selects join server he can see all servers but then when you go to join the game the launcher crashes.

Have checked steam files and all seems ok and he is running win10 64bit, anyone have any ideas?

Hi Manta... Sorry he is having problems. I'm sure someone with more knowledge will be by shortly with more suggestions. Does he have any overlays running? Steam/ TS? Are his perifials ( joysticks and such running on a powered hub? If so maybe in plug them all and see if you can join. I know there are some windows 10 updates that I think mess with the game. Please look through the troubleshooting thread and see if you see something that might be causing his problem.

Hi hope this helps steam/cliffs/properties:

uncheck overlay

uncheck use desktop theater

go to updates uncheck Steam cloud

usually the problem is any of these 3 things in steam
