Haha, I've been following this game for years (it used to be a project called Traction Wars, was going to be a slightly different game and was going to be free to play.) and didn't expect it to be posted here!
I'll be playing this for sure when it's out.
Pathfinder Games have started 'Kickstarter' for Vanguard: Normandy 1944

as far as ww2 games go, after backing countless projects... I had a look at this and decided to bite the bullet one last time. This is my last hope, the rest simply haven't lived up to the hype, have been released to early or aren't optimized.
Fingers crossed

Is it me, or does the graphics look " sharper" than Post Scriptum. I have so much trouble seeing enemy in PS. Will be keeping an eye on this one as well. If you check out the WW1 fps( not really my cup of tea) Verdun. Looks amazing! Graphic are tight. This looks to be kind of the same.
Cheers

A bit more info on this project.
It used to be called "Traction Wars" and started a really long time ago, I think originally as a crysis mod as a steampunk theme in like 2008? It changed to a WWII game soon after and basically has gone through tons of changes and they reached the current idea in about 2015. Last year they released tons of progress updates but went silent in about october 2017 until they relaunched as Vanguard 1944. The main changes are it's now a smaller scale game, and it's now paid ($15) rather than the original free to play idea. $15 seems pretty cheap so I backed it of course, especially since I've been following it for a few years.
The game is basically a slow-paced team based shooter which is totally my thing, and the kickstarter will need lots of help to make it to the goal, and these devs really deserve for it to be funded so if you are interested at all I'd consider backing it.
I'll see you guys at Pegasus bridge when it releases!
Backing on this project seems to be stalling.. I hope they make it![]()

So do I. They need to step up the promotion of the game - it looks like it won't succeed at this point. Tell your friends!
Bumping this thread. The kickstarter ends this weekend and they still need just under 3k GBP! If you like FPS games check it out!
Here are some gameplay clips:
They dropped their goal a bit..ony down by like 800 bucks as of now! Let's go!

Goal wasn't dropped, still at 10,000 GBP. Less than 700 GBP to go however so it looks like it will probably get funded.
£462 left to fund with 70 hours to go. I've popped my kickstarter cherry for this one, so here's hoping it comes through!![]()
The goal was dropped by almost a 1000.00 from what I saw. It started at 13.9 something and now its 12.9k

The goal has been sat at £10,000 since I've been aware of it. Perhaps the localised conversion has simply updated to reflect a strengthening dollar?
Pans is right, kickstarter shows you the goal in your own currency and if the value changes then the goal will change, the project is in GBP and it's been at a goal of 10k GBP the whole time.
Just over 2 days left with less than 500 gbp left to go!
Ahh ok that makes sense. Hope they make it!

Anyone who backed this game should be getting a Steam key via email today
Got mine, ready to download and test![]()
Played a few rounds today.
It's actually decent, sadly not very many players. I fear it'll die quickly which is too bad because the gameplay is rather nice.
Tested it yesterday as well and find it to be very rough still and in need of a lot of work which is sad as this has been in development for a long time. Gameplay wise it feels more like CounterStrike set in WW2 than say RedOrchestra or Post Scriptum. It is definitely more "run & gun" than other WW2 shooters. Active player numbers were very low when I tried yesterday, maybe they'll creep up the next few days. But as Flare says the game needs to keep its audience in order not to be dead on arrival.
PS: Just checked again, there is ONE full server in the entire browser list, the others are empty. Not a good sign imo...

Interesting you think it is more "run and gun" - personally I think that though the rounds are short, the actual gameplay pace is a bit slower. In my opinion RO2 is much more fast paced - that game is really quick. Post Scriptum is slow and large scale, this game is slow but small scale.
I really hope people keep playing it though but I fear it will die far too fast. The graphics are really nice, the game mode is ok (rounds could be longer), really my only complaint is the animations which are a bit clunky in some cases.
