Buzz the question is not if you can shut it off on the 109E. We all know you cannot. The question is if both rads will leak if one rad is damaged. The answer is no. This has been fixed also for the 109E.
If left rad is hit the left rad will leak. If right rad is hit the right rad will leak. The difference for 109E is that you will not be able to isolate the leak as you will be able to do on the F series.
If I misread the question... my apologies... the answer above is correct.

Isn't that tank for oil and not glycol?

I know what you mean Rich. They had that big horse-shoe shaped oil tank right behind the propellor boss.

That certainly is the schematic for the cooling system.

I'm guessing here but was the coolant tank mounted behind the oil tank? It's shape would obviously be governed by engine covers and clearance of the prop. shaft so it would be pretty similar to the oil tank.

On the Fs and later I'm pretty sure the oil tank was behind the spinner but it looks like on the E's they are using their coolant tank in this location. I think I now know where their oil tank is. On the side towards the back, kind of a bottle shape. The hydraulic tanks are also in a different place. We need a good drawing of a labeled 109E 601 DB

109E 601 DB and 109F 601 DB very different as far as tank arrangements

The 109 E models had their oiltank right in front of the instrument panel. The bottle on the right side was an additional reservoir that could be installed starting with the introduction of the E7 models.

Only someone from outside the UK would be wishing for rain and lightning.

Good point though. Not under development at the moment.

    Hahahaha!
In Sunny South Africa ...we all come out to look at the rain like it's an alien sighting.

It's so rare I left my umbrella on the London Tube.

The past two years have been very bad hear in BC Canada for forest fires so lightning no not good rain yes but when there's rain in July August you get the lightning. Last year was really weird first a ton of rain in June and flooding then July August forest fires...really bad. Sometimes I think this weather weapon stuff is for real

Re: TFS Developer Update – September 2018

Fantastic update once more Bonkin, there's a lot to look forward to with 5.0. Double thumbs up and well deserved

Interesting to see the similarities between the planned fire effects for Cliffs and those planned for IL-2 Great Battles, as seen here: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic...comment-668994
I think one of the reasons it doesn't look quite right in still images is because it's not moving, the short clips of fire in the cinematic look better. Regardless of whether it's moving or not though, that tongue of flame from the Ju88 in that last picture looks great.

Couple of questions - how is progress on the 5.0 GUI going, and are there any plans to include documentation/manuals or pilots note's with 5.0?

    Thanks

I'm in Burnaby (suburb or Vancouver) and I'm very happy that we had enough rainy days in mid Sept that I didn't feel like a fool wearing my rain jacket. I walked for miles on those couple or rainy days, because it felt very refreshing to be out and about and not getting baked by the sun.

Back on track...the Beaufighter Mk IC looks awesome. I can't wait to do some mud moving or ship wreaking with it. I'm really looking forward to the Martlet III too and are wondering if you might be able to show some footage of it soon?

The Martlet is waiting at the import pipeline while other aircraft are completed... not sure when we might be able to show something.

Likely at least a month away.

On topic however, I would like to echo Kiwi's question about if there will be a GUI update for 5.0. GUI is probably the weakest part of CloD at the moment so an overhaul would do it wonders.

We will definitely be separating the aircraft from the vehicles in Quick Mission... and hopefully some other improvements in other areas.

Love that country, wish to go back at some point.

5.0 will be worth the wait, plenty of things to do and accomplish while waiting.
