By the way has anyone heard any news on Red 7? It's the G4 that is seen all over the place in youtube videos. It had a crack up in 2016 in a crosswind takeoff, not that bad but the landing gear was all twisted and one wing happened to be bent a bit...That plane is cursed!! Other 109s fly but it's always this one that gets hurt. I thought there would be some news on how repairs were going but I can't find anything

Found this days after and I think this is new. Looks like it's getting a whole new put together

Now with age (thankfully) memory loss increases, but IIRC wasn't it too long ago there was only one flying condition BF-109?

This is probably the one you're thinking about Nightmare. Although it's not an original Daimler Benz 109 the way I look at 109s is the Merlin engine 109s are kind of a Frankenstein creation...just my opinion. This one has been flying as a G6 since the 80s and still is. So as far as I can count that's eight DB 109s that are flying if you include the three in the videos Black2 Black 8 and FM-BB. Kermit Weeks also has one in the works now so maybe that will make nine someday in the future. I forgot there is an E-1 being worked on at Meirmotors so that's ten.

With the technical know how that they have today there will probably be more flying in the future. You can build a 109 now from scratch, you just have to find an engine
